I think perhaps you are being a little selective there. Apart from the fact that Norway, Finland and Denmark are Scandinavian countries, the first one of your links that I read included this link:

Oh I didn't realize their was a new continent named Scandinavia....Stupid American thought those countries were included in Europe.

And the Dutch..they arent in Europe...Governments in Italy, germany and france have documented to be for bans on internet gambling poker...(France is just now working out a bill to legalize online gambling)

I was just responding to your post that stated " Haven't heard of anyone in Europe trying to ban the game"...that statement is obviously wrong. Better statement would prolly be...No one in the UK is trying to ban this game :)

I've been on a "break" dealing with family issues, haven't played in 3 weeks and come back to this load of bull! Un-frigging-real!

I just went on to the PPA website, I didn't see an update, maybe I missed it. Does anyone know if a date has been set in NY for this case? Or if there is an injunction or something simliar place waiting to be heard to try and temporarily turn this around until the actual case is heard?

The poker sites have all fronted the money so none of our money has been frozen. Yes there is going to be litigation filed most likely by the ppa which is heavily funded by the poker sites, but the court system is slow.

That's one problem that I am having with all this going on and because of this I have been sticking to just freerolls.
I would love to deposit at sites and play for bigger stakes. But too, I would one one place (if possible) to transfer all of my funds back and forth. Like I used to years back with Netteller. It worked flawless back then. It was nice to have my withdraws straight into my checking account. Made a withdraw as close as an ATM.
So what are the best options left to us for deposits and withdraws from poker sites? Opinions and Suggestions more than welcome.
See you at the felt.

ewallets

Sorry if I missed it in this thread, but about ewallets:

1) Does anyone know if our $ (for US residents, I mean) is safe in ewallet accounts?

2) Do you think poker stars will wind up accepting ewallets deposits? ...you know, besides neteller & others that Americans can't use.

3) If Full Tilt also suspended their echecks option too, I wonder if from now on signing up for a Click2Pay account as a US resident via Full Tilt's cashier is still possible, safe, etc? (Btw, it always seemed strange that FTP allowed players to open & use C2P accounts when Click2Pay explicitly states that do not permit US residents).

I know no one really knows the real answers to these, but I'm sure some of you are wondering the same thing. Any thoughts?

I truely wish we could somehow get the ACLU like they are in the Kentucky seizures of domains case....i,m no great legal mind, but currently i see precedent established in two state cases where judges ruled texas holdem a game of skill not chance...it would seem that defining gambling should be the 1st order.
Seems time and time again i see references to gambling and not poker,i hold the two to be seperate entities, and i feel that therein lies the biggest issue...aside of course from the trampling of our constitution and civil rights.
I for one will continue to play poker online,in my home and anywhere else i see fit...i feel compelled to quote Thomas Jefferson here
"If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so."

As an active Member at Stars I'm going to trust you Zack because TBH you havnt been wrong about much when it comes to poker and the surrounding issues. I'll continue to play and keep an eye on current events....If it gets too sticky i'll try and get my money out I suppose. Thanks for keeping us so informed and educated on the issue because honestly my mind just doesn't wrap well around a lot of legal issues. GL PPA, for all of our sakes.

The sad thing is here where I live we do have a few casinos (as I might have mentioned earlier.) And a few of those have poker rooms. It just seems strange to me that I could play poker there and in the State it would be legal. But if I play poker in the comfort of my own house that happens to be in the same State I could have a problem.
Makes me wonder what would happen if they set up online terminals at casinos that allowed you to play online poker.

See you at the felt.

It's too bad they didn't put this much effort into regulating the banks when we really needed it. What a joke.
