Poker is a game of skill, strategy, and decision-making that involves not only technical aspects but also the mental aspect. While many poker players focus on improving their technical skills, it is essential to recognize the importance of mental health for long-term performance. In this article, we will explore the relationship between poker and mental health, and how it is possible to cultivate a healthy balance to achieve success at the tables.

Managing Pressure: Poker can be an extremely challenging and competitive game, which can lead to high-pressure situations. The ability to effectively manage stress and emotional pressure is crucial for maintaining good performance. Players who neglect their mental health may experience issues such as anxiety, excessive stress, and even depression. It is important to recognize the signs of stress and seek strategies to cope with these emotions.

Practicing Self-control: In poker, just like in any gambling game, there are external factors that are beyond our control. Dealing with variance and inevitable losses is part of the game. Developing self-control skills is crucial to avoid emotional tilts, which occur when a player lets negative emotions take over after a series of losses. It is necessary to maintain composure, make rational decisions, and not let emotions interfere with the game.

Balancing Personal Life and the Game: An aspect often overlooked by poker players is the importance of maintaining a balance between personal life and the game. Spending long hours at the tables without dedicating time to other activities can lead to mental overload and even health problems. It is essential to find a healthy balance between poker and other aspects of life, such as family, friends, hobbies, and physical activities. Having a balanced life provides a solid foundation for facing the challenges of the game in a healthier way.

Seeking Support: Just like anyone going through mental challenges, poker players can benefit from the support of professionals. Psychologists specialized in dealing with athletes and players can help develop emotional skills, improve decision-making, and provide strategies to cope with the pressures of the game. Seeking professional support is not a sign of weakness but rather a smart way to invest in your mental well-being and long-term performance.

Conclusion: Poker is a game that requires technical and mental skills. It is important to recognize that mental health plays a crucial role in long-term success. Managing stress, practicing self-control, balancing personal life, and seeking support are essential for maintaining mental well-being in the world of poker. By nurturing a healthy mental state, players can enhance their abilities and achieve greater success in the game while maintaining overall well-being.

I think now I am not to bad concerning the other points... but it's after a hard work :)

I like to think like this: Imagine me, at this very moment, trapped on top of a hospital bed or in a social situation where I lack the basics to survive!? So I'm glad to have the opportunity to play poker online from the comfort of my own home! So any frustration over play causes won't affect me for long! I'm privileged and so are you!

There are times in the game of poker that it's all or nothing! And this is a common occurrence and occurs frequently. Therefore, having an active logical thinking is fundamental in the game of poker. Any deviation of thought, other than the reasoning of the moves, can lead the player who was playing with excellence to harm himself during a tournament.
