I really enjoy in-person play, which belies the hours and hours that I have played online.

Hello.
I prefer to play online. I have no time or desire to go to a casino if I can play comfortably at home.

I enjoy both. I think online is harder. I can't tell a bluff online as easy. I can't see body language. There are more opponents usually in tournaments. It takes longer to win at cash tables online. When I play in person, I know in the first hour if I'm going to win or not. I can recognize more bluffs.

Since I live in the US, live for sure. Especially at a fun poker festival like Run It Up Reno. Lots of fun non poker stuff to do, besides the cool tournaments they put on.

which do you prefer? I personally always do better in person, but mostly online game. What do you think are the factors that differentiate one from the other?

Live poker... unless it's Free Money Friday and I'm hosting my homegame on Twitch :)

Live is nice because you can pick up more information and have more time to think.

Online is great if you want to put in a lot of volume (like sunday tourneys)

20 year old me preferred online, 30 year old me prefers live :)

Hi.
I only play poker at home. I rarely go to casinos, so I almost never play live. I usually spend about 2-3 hours a day playing poker, so I actually only have time to play online.
Good luck.

Live poker is most likely 100% pure in the game..and the structure is completely different from online, but online can be exciting and profitable. :)

I prefer in person poker to online poker. (Especially friendly house games) I went to a buddies house tonight and won a couple hundred playing in a small tourney style game with 12 people. Playing at casinos can be much more of a grind but I find myself composing myself and playing tighter/smarter in person than I do online.

Its a tale of two cities for me. It depends what you like. If you think of poker as a social game then live will be for you. If you think of poker as more of a hobby or something to supplement income then I think online would be better. Online has the advantage of multi-tabling which is huge since one table play is boring to me. Online also has the convenience of staying in your own home relaxing while you play.

To sum it up, do you want to talk to people while you play? If yes then live, if no then online

Of course its prefered in person..but its hard to catch some friends everytime,so If You wanna play everyday poker the online poker its the Best [emoji16]

If you go to a casino You need time to play,so maybe If You dont play poker for living i Guess the time to play its small...so for me personal the online poker its the Best..

I prefer online poker! First of all, accessibility is the main and undeniable advantage of online poker. You can play in the morning, in the afternoon, at night, or all day long. There are dozens of poker rooms to choose from, where you can compete with players from all over the world at a single virtual table. In offline mode, this option is available only in major tournaments, where a beginner can not get through. Secondly, it is easy — the next argument for starting to get acquainted with poker on the Internet. Even if you have never played poker and the river is a river for you, you will still be able to understand the rules: somewhere intuitively, somewhere thanks to the built-in tutorials. Without at least the slightest experience in an offline game with more venerable opponents, you may be uncomfortable, and the virtual table in a sense equalizes everyone. and finally, Speed is another positive feature that you can't pass by. In offline mode, an average of 10 to 20 hands are dealt per hour, while in online mode, the number of hands reaches 50-100 (and more when playing at multiple tables).

As much as I love online poker, I have to say that o.p. is became uncpredictable while more and more people joining in with really different skills. So you really need to defend yourself and your cards, and be able to fold as well. Few years back it was easier.
I want to experience live poker, but not really have a chance right now. Hungary not filled up with quality casinos, and tournaments. On internet they don't advertise the events well, so I don't have so much information about them.
Maybe 'll participate in the future (summer) but I am just not ready right now. :)

Good afternoon everyone! As for online poker and playing live, I compare it to watching a movie, watching on a tablet or going to the cinema, the result is one (game), here are different emotions

Live poker is better.
1. More interaction with opponents
2. More information available
3. I like shuffling my chips

I tend to agree, I do better most times at live games, heck you get your winnings instantly, lol. The biggest difference I have noticed is you can watch for and track patterns of players one line while in live games it is much more difficult. Also it seems players online have much less concern for money management, almost as if the chips don't represent real money. Even playing with play money I try to play as if it is real. I have even had other online players question why I play so tight, well the game is the game and I don't feel it should be corrupted or diminished by the stakes. your thoughts?

It depends. Online poker gives you the possibility to play wherever you are as long as you have internet and smartphone or pc. Also you can play for much lower price than live games and even for free in freerolls.

Live game for me is much more exciting. No matter if it is home game or casino live contact with other players is just another level of experience. Of course price to play live is higher.

To sum it up - if i have the time and money i prefer to play live. If i don't i play online (which is much more frequently).

My opinion

I prefer poker on line. You can sit back have a beer and a smoke and be carefree about poker. The way poker was meant to be.
