honestly i think you could make a bot that could make a lot of money multi-tabling and using pokertracker or holdem manager software and statistics to help aids its decisions, i doubt how much well thought out decisions multi tabling pros can make without these software programs, i think a bot could play much more consistent and adjust to other players etc. very well i wonder if anyone has some custom bot software that can't be tracked by poker sites and is winning a lot of money

Would be great if there were the "BOTS" would win so much money, because win of someone who does not think is best!

Agree. I heard of players being 20 tables at the same time all throughout the day. Now unless there is some online poker firm out there I highly doubt thats possible on a consistent basis

A Poker Bot for MTTs would be most useful for the times you have to leave. It could finish the tourney or just fill the gap for when you are not there. Better than sitout and get blinded out anyway.

But they are illegal on most (if not all) sites I guess.

Yeah we all know about bots. We're not going to link people to them from CC though.

After reading through here, I think I would love playing against them. Easy money I would think. The same as it is a lot easier beating AI in video games vs PVP in the same game.

Robots are a joke. If you cant beat them you shouldn't be playing poker at all.

After 10 years of telling everyone that there are bots out there and being called crazy, now there are people saying of course everyone knows there are bots. Thank you so much for starting this thread, I was beginning to think I was just the only person talking at the table.

I've brought this to the attention of numerous sites, including hand numbers and everything else they asked for.

All of them just brushed me aside and said I didn't know what I was talking about.

Just curious is there anything anywhere that suggests that the sites are involved in it. Because when I mentioned it, they kept telling me to stop my investigation.

Once again thanks so much.

Im not sure but I played maybe a Bot in a Sit n go tournament at Full Tilt poker .
I really remembered it , it says its from Canada because it gave me easy money that day :)
Everytime , it used to Fold when i raise before the Cards turn . So i observed it and started doin it , and it ran out of blinds :)
And went for a rematch and played against it for 5 times :) and won
Some bots are good hearted :)

hhahaaahaha this is so nice and funny mate, can you tell us what was his nickname so we can play against him too :D :shakehand

In theory it probably is possible to eventually make a bot that can beat any human. That happened in chess anyways, though poker is probably harder for a bot than chess.

Does anyone suspect a lot of bots on Merge? It seems like the micro buy-in tourneys with 3 hours and 45 minutes of late registration that are so popular there would actually not be that popular with regular human beings that like to play a $1.10 buy-in. Most humans don't register on time for those anyway, but if you're a good player it seems like the earlier you register, the better chance you would have of doing well in those. But if bots have infested Merge, then it makes me wonder.

If the bots are more advanced now than they used to be, but maybe not advanced enough to win at higher levels, maybe that's why those small buy-ins are so tough now (at least if you register on time) than they used to be. I've found that when I register on time for one of those, the play is tough and the bad players don't come in until later.

Yes, that's the other thing I was going to mention too...I believe that there are probably some very advanced poker bots out there right now.

In the old days chess players scoffed at the idea that a chess program could ever beat a grandmaster, then Deep Blue came along and bammm, artificial intelligence proved everyone wrong.

There's been a lot of people claim bots are used at this site and that site, that they don't exist, that they can't be beat, and on and on.For those that think they don't exist, i have some nice Sahara Desert farm land with lots of trees and lake front views for just a buck an acre. The real deal on bots are they have been around for years, and they are getting better every year. Neo bot was touted as the best, when actually it ranked 5th with Polaris and Bluffbot being the top two. Polaris won 3, lost 2, and one draw. As far as bots being used on an online poker site, your not going to get one that will make you squat, the advanced bots are used and made by research companies and universities for competition purposes. The fly by night companies offer bots that are either scams or useless junk thrown together. And the sites that do go after any bots have tools to detect them, while many sites act like they don't exist, because the average bot is nothing to worry about to start with. With any game that has concealed cards, it is impossible to figure out the outcome of the hand even for computers. No intelligence human or artificial can predict the random hands unless one KNOWS the hole cards, therefore a site would have to supply this information to the bot user. While extremely unlikely, it has happened in the past. You can read that all over the poker news sites, it's no secret, but no new rogues have appeared since those fiascoes. Sure, there have been bots at every site that's here now and long gone, but they weren't at the micro stakes, that would be like using a Rolls Royce to win a $50 demolition derby. Anyway, a bot is easily 'flustered' by changing your own play. You probably will never encounter one, but it isn't out of the realm of possibility. So, since we don't see thousands of millionaire online poker players that are using bots, they don't seem to be nothing to worry about, or wouldn't EVERYBODY be using them? I would be more worried about a shill than a bot.

Rolls Royce had to start somewhere, with an engineer working for a different car company or whatever....I wouldn't be surprised if botmakers are out there in the microstakes plugging away, perfecting their product...winning little demo derbies here and there and ready to hit the big time when everything's just right.

is all this really much different than a casino shill? i know here in blackhawk the casinos will pay you $10/hr to play for the house. personally i think that's a terrible rate and would have to be getting ~$25/hr to make it feel worth while.

They also give you a share of the wins as a % bonus but it's bracketed. For example, 5%/10%/15%/20%/25% to keep it simple if your overall profit was X amt per goal.
