Do you play music as you play and if so do you think it makes you play better?

I don't usually listen to music while playing, but I doubt it would make much difference. I'm usually focused well enough on the game that things like that don't really distract.

:rock: Often I do. I like to listen to the theme song for The Good, The Bad and The Ugly before I start a tournament...I dont know why.
Usually when I am playing thou I just keep some classical music kinda low in the background to keep me calm. Unless I start getting sleepy waiting on a hand, then I hit the rock.

If I dont have any music going, I find myself wistleing alot. :flute: Then I have to miss hands when I get up for drinks cause my mouth is dry.

I dont take things to seriously so i generally watch a movie / TV and have my poker tables tiled around it. Probably not +ev but at 0.01/0.02 im still winning so i dont care.

:thrasher: :icon_thum I don't always but if i think to, i do think it helps now that you've got me thinking about it. I am one of those guys that believes in a positive state of mind. Music can often make you feel good and when you feel good you play good.

I find it easier to be patient when I play the tunes in the background.

I like to put chillout, new age, or psychedelic music when i play. but sometimes i just forget and play silently.

Yes and I've noticed a big difference because of it. When I play live it seems I get stuck with a chatty player next to me and it's a distraction for me. When I go my ipod last fall the first place I took it was the casino. I find I can be more observant while playing and the music puts me in a better mood. Plus it's the best way to politely ignore the chatty players.

At home playing online it helps a lot as well. I have such a chaotic household (kids & neighborhood kids always here) that I find it helps me to relax while I play.

When I play online I'll have the TV on or Music on just as background noise. In the Casino I don't use Headphones. I always feel like someone is behind me... Is that wierd?? Oh well. Also, I like to hear what the other players have to say. However, I hardly ever talk at the table.

Yes, but it usually depends on what im listening to. A lot of times ill put on some Deano and just chill out, and i do think it helps me stay calm, therefore helps my game.

I usually keep it quiet when playing on line.
My monthly live game always has music going in the background and a lot of talking at the tables.
