Hi everyone,

As the people who read my posts or follow the same streams that I do (shout out to Ribbybruno on Weds nights) know. I LOVE PKOs. I truly believe that they are a combination of cash and tournament poker. You have the prize structure of a tournament with the ability to pick up bounties that are similar to cash games. They also seem to play a lot like a cash game, they are much looser than regular tournaments and I really like that you normally start deep stacked. It gives players a chance to showcase their skills even when they take a bad beat here and there (which is ALWAYS in online poker LOL).

I also think PKOs are also one of the fastest and easiest way to build a bankroll. You don't even have to make it ITM to show a profit, usually anything above 2 KOs and you are making money and from my experience, people will get in pretty wide (esp during late reg) so you can really start building up if you knock a few out AND make it ITM.

How about you? Are you a PKO fan? What do you like or hate most about them?

with people playing looser than regular i guess variance will be higher at the same time ? so yeah there is chances to cash a bit before making the money but also you need to be on a really great run to win big on PKOs , a friend once asked me to try sngs and I loved them, it is more regular income and easier and takes less time to play and there is tons of buy ins ( with each there is a skill gap to consider ) find the right format for you and let it ruin you hahahah, just joking mate best of luck on the tables <3

I don't really like this format, it's a very loose game, many people enter the hand on any card just to knock out a small stack, the widest ranges, and half of the players enter at all on any two cards. But this is at the micros, and at the low limits. A lot of people play in tournaments like in casino slot machines.

I think any tournament can be good or bad for a particular player, depending on his skill in the game, style of play, as well as on the composition of the players that participate in the tournament. The more amateurs participate in the tournament, the more attractive it is for you. PKOs are tournaments that give you the opportunity not to wait for the ITM, but to win money much earlier and more than the buy-in. From this point of view, PKOs are very attractive. And if you combine the first and second factors, then these are excellent tournaments.

I play a lot of SNGs too. I usually run a table or two of those while playing the PKOs because they play much tighter.

I agree it is much looser. I play from the smallest up to the $40-ish buy-ins and they all play remarkably similar. But, if you play good hands in position then you are likely to do really well.

I'm a big fan of pko, it's the closest thing to contributing to all the players who can't reach the elite positions

I love that type of tournaments, as you say, they help a lot to build a bankroll, recently I had a very strong profit in a tournament of that type, I won 16 dollars eliminating people and 4 dollars per position, in a tournament of 5 dollars buy-in and the best part is that it only cost me 33 cents via satélite.

I am relatively new to poker. I think PKOs are great. They can be both frustrating as hell, but also fun (if you get some run-good). Plenty of times I have been knocked out with solid pair vs ace-rag. But that is the way it goes. I think the format can be an equalizer for less experienced players, as well. I don't play them all the time, but when I do, win or lose, it's always a fun night.

I still prefer the regular tournaments and I have better results playing them than PKO's tournaments. I think that in the PKO's there a lot of loose players that call any raise with any two cards to try to win the bounty.

PKOs are a good format in principle, but it as to be a high buyin. If not, people will be people and the bingo starts. Too loose in low buyins

I like these tournaments PKOs and Bounty Builders, as you mentioned you don't have to make ITM to show profits. I've won 1 PKOs mtt at 15$ BI and all the money is in the final table when the Bounties get bigger, I took down the 1st place for 1600$ and a total 1300$ for bounties. They have a different strategy from the regular ones especially with the ICM, there is a lot of action, emotion, fun...etc and they attract a lot of players. This is the future format for mtts, as the last Sunday Million on pokerstars was a PKO I think.

I don't really like Pko's, because the game becomes almost a bingo, about 70% of the players focus more on Pko's than on the prize pool and the game is not productive.

I play PKOs , they have fun. I like the instant reward but I hate the any 2 calls because of the bounties. I mean I have seen so many crazy things which they make me lose my tournament life. They usually destroy my healthy stack etc. But I will continue play them!

PKOs are fun due to Bounty factor. I love them.

I don't really like this type of game where many people enter the play with garbage cards just to try to eliminate you and then they achieve their goal with a lot of luck, I know that in the long run they won't win more times but it makes me very angry when it happens and it's just to get the reward, so I don't play much in this mode
