Gus was one of my favourite considering his prime years. He was real gambler and playing entertaining game. But I see Ivey as the best player of all time among the known famous high stakes players.
Last I heard Gus had his hands looked over by Cole South and his associates and they knew all his quirks and habits. Hence why Hansen got cleaned out and is now a 9-5 accountant I believe.
Although Hansen was a skilled poker player, he did not accept that he could not compete with the top online poker pros. He was, however, taught an important lesson. He lost over $21,000,000, making him the second-highest losing player in online poker history.
Phil is obviously better he's probably in the top 3 players in the world if not the best. However, I liked watching Gus play because you never knew what he was going to do and it was that aggressiveness that probably led to him losing a lot of money over the course of his poker career.
I like both players and they are a great. But I think Phil has shown that his consistency and his are unmatched, so I think he is the better player. And he is among the greatest in any form of poker.
Good afternoon. There is no comparison between them at all.Ivey is much better than Hansen. He has won 10 wsop bracelets ,and despite the fact he has played less tournaments than before, Ivey has been able to win some high rollers like the Triton.I mean, Ivey has not only been a successful live player but also great online player.Meanwhile, Hansen had some great years but I haven´read good results from him in the last years and playing online .... well it was already said all the Gus lost.
Ivey is the better player for sure. I always love how much Ivey never seems to give any tells in live play.
Would a comparison of Negraneau or Helmuth and Ivey be more fun to debate?
Not a fan of Helmuth but admit he is really good.
Negraneau and Ivey are my favorite players. Would be tough to pick a winner
