In live poker you have more interests and interaction.
Online - closed area and headphones are your friends.

The free tournaments are a crap shoot. Youre strategy must be totally different than playing live or even the real money tables or MTT's. Players play a wider range of hands and fish out more as they have nothing on the line. As far as "setup hands" I feel you believe this is more common due to the fact you are seeing many more hands as opposed to sitting in a live a table.

I see live as 2-4 people see a flop, and sometimes no flop seen at all ... Online I see so many people limp in with garbage just to see the flop and premium hands are worthless so many times I see 28o hitting a set or boat on the flop, might as well burn all AA and AK

You really need to step up with fundamentals online. GTO plays a much greater part online than in live games. especially 1/2 live where you generally play with some pretty soft opponents in a local casino compared to grinders playing 1/2 online

I have been playing poker for 35 years both on line and live games. When I first started playing on-line around 15 years ago, it was quite easy to win money regularly from cash games and tournaments.
More-so if you were new to a site. Especially the smaller sites.
However, now I ONLY play live games.
Why? Because I believe there isn't one honest site out there.
The only people that win are the sites and affiliates promoting the site.

Forget the BS of random card generators. You only have to play in big rebuy tournaments where ridiculous hands occur so regularly to know this is true.

Such tournaments rely on rebuys to match the total prize fund.

If you were lucky enough to win good money every year, the government cannot tax you. Which is why the Government prefers a poker site to win and not you. The more money a site takes in rakes, the more it pays in taxes. A win win for both government and the sites because they are no longer regulated like they were 10 - 15 years ago.

Stick to live games.

At least your friends wont rob you.

It's like going to a live concert and listening to albums of a band. The feeling is more true when we go live.Maybe live is a little more trustworthy.

Small stakes no limit holdem ring games in brick and mortar casinos are way looser than online games . Unfortunately , the big rake ( house drop , jackpot drop plus occasional dealer tip ) makes them almost impossible to beat long term .

also new to cards chat

I think you are right and will take it one step more. Online there is no real deck and the percent of cards on a flop from high, mid, low is different from site to site. Also I would swear that at some sites their are players who know the flop coming or other players cards. But all in all the sites listed here at cards chat are much better then where I was playing. I just finished going to and registering at them all, that I could, and I really like some of them. Now the big problem is only so many hours in the day and I really can't sit here all day. My gardens are calling and the wood pile also. We heat with wood, so it's really calling.
