I am a fiction writer working on the second of my private investigator series. The current manuscript takes place in Atlantic City, New Jersey and has the main character involved in a poker tournament along with a young hotshot poker junkie who has gotten himself in deep with the local mob. The last third of the book truly focuses on the nuances of the game and details the progression of a tournament consisting of 200+ players.

My question is whether or not larger casino tournaments post a leaderboard/chip count standings while the tournament is in play? If so, how often is it updated so players can monitor their current standing in the tournament? If there is no leaderboard posted, is there some other tool/format used to notify active players of their gradual progression through tournament play? I have incorporated a digital leaderboard into my storyline and am looking for verification for accuracy purposes. I have a deep knowledge of gameplay and strategy, but have never played in a large casino tournament, therefore rendering me unaware of these aspects.

Thanks in advance!
