Hello,

So I'm new to the Poker scene. Usually I just play blackjack or if I m in a mood to win/lose big I'll play EU roulette. Right now I have 5k aside which I ll end up blowing on Roulette, something I don't wish to do.

Now the thing is my mates play Poker and I have seen them do well (one of them wins $300-400 every now and then). In general he is able to sustain the winnings which is something you can't do in Roulette.

This has caught my interest and I would like to know if it's possible to make around 1-2k a month? I have a full time job so I'm not doing this for a living, but leisure and side money.

Any books/required reading? Do I need to reach a certain level to make the required amount and how long will it take? Most importantly, is it worth it?

Extra Info -
Decent chess player (club level - 1800-1900 ELO) if that matters. Good at Maths (B.Mech) as I know Poker requires calculation.

Thank you
Mike
