We have a work poker league which consists of 4 live games and 52 pokerstars homegames. The online games are broken up into four 13 week games (having payouts at the end of each of 13 weeks). At the end of the season the 4 live games and 52 weekly games are added up to have the player of the year. The problem we have run into is that I believe the Liive games are weighted too heavily and we need help to crunch numbers and make it work better. We have about 25 players each week. Out of those, 8 get paid or 33%. 1st is usually 6.22 pts (with .5 included for participation) and 8th gets gets 2.52 (pokerstars actually supplies these points on the website) At the end of each of the 13 weeks the winner usually has approximately 30 points with a bunch of people in a close pack behind the winner.

The problem is that we are trying to have the Live game be weighted about the same as a 13 week online session. Here are the point values for the Live game as opposed to the last 13 week online season.

Live Game 1st 30 pts 2nd 25 pts 3rd 20 pts 4th 15 pts 5th 10 pts Anyone that showed up 5 pt. Online 1st 33.6 pts 2nd 30.5 pts 3rd 29.1 pts 4th 28.7 pts 5th 27.2 pts

And if you went 0-13 which wont happen you will get 6.5 pts.. But last is usually around 12 pts.

1 way i was thinking of fixing this is to give 10 pts to all the people that showed up to the live game but not sure. Any suggestions/help would be appreciated. The way it is now, if you win or finish high in 2 of the 4 live games you will probably win POT
