Need a little Advice

I don't know if this is in the right thread or not, but hopefully you can still help. I am pretty new to the site, and want to get elbow deap in the community. I have been playing poker online for a couple years now, so I am familiar with the sport, but still need some help.

Anyways, I have been around the forum a little, but have a couple questions. I notice that alot of people use some sort of software with their game. What is a good software for tracking my game, and the most helpful?

Also I see stats that look like 8/12/3- maybe not them numbers, but what do they mean?

The top program is PokerTracker. A 60 day free eval is avail on their website.

The stats mean VPIP/PFR/AF

There are numerous threads on this topic, so no need to restate here.

ahh ok, so pokertracker is where its at. I thought so, but didn't want to buy it if it was worthless.

still don't know what the numbers mean, don't know the abbreviations yet.. I know- I suck. Anybody translate?
