Music and playing?

Your question is good lol! I often listen to music when I play poker relaxes me and makes it not boring to see hands as 7, 2 all the time! Also to not get bored so I read news, use twitter, facebook, etc

Believe or not listening live queen performance turns to have best influence on my game, some aggressive music ruins my concentration. I also tried relaxing music, ocean sounds ,woods sounds, didnt work out...

I've been trying to listen to different genres when playing. So far I've had the best with electronica dance music (trance, dubstep, etc.) If it is music that has lyrics that I am familiar with I tend to listen to the music too much and lose concentration on the game. Have yet to listen to classical/symphonic, but that is next on the list.

I tend not to, I also never listen to music when working/studying. Don't know if thats the same for you. I feel that I'm just not at my best when I'm listening to music while trying to concentrate on something else.

It's pretty bad that all of you are mentioning that music changes the way you play.. If you're admitting to that then I think that you probably shouldn't listen while you play. I can listen to anything and still play with the same skillset and mindframe.

I play live almost exclusively. I wear headphones most of the time, and I rarely converse with the other players.

I find that listening to any type of music helps me focus on body language, and really helps me range other players. I will not sit down at a table without my headphones.

Poker truly is going to be boring if you are playing correctly. I need to keep my mind focused, and make good decisions. Music helps me do this better than anything else.

If you are getting bored then you are not learning how players play and probably shouldnt be playing at all if you want to win. watch your opponents and be interested in the moves they make and find their weaknesses. As for music I think death metal would be bad I remember reading a study about this. Just listen to music you like. Pros in the main event always play with their ipod in.

If you multi-table Music while playing online, listening to music (always) gonna reduce your capacity of playing more tables, max. concentrate and fast decision making process. Live it can became very boring to play for so many hours so listen to some music will help you relax and keep you in good mood. I use noise blocking headphones and feels a big difference and a relief when I put my headphones and feel the headphones blocking the noise of people moving/playing with the chips, sometimes I´m not even listening to music but have the headphones on to reduce ambiance noise.

I like to listen to country and Eminem when I play for whatever reason, just my personal preference. Don't think there is a right/wrong genre of music to listen to though lol and for the studies that were taken who cares. they take useless studies everyday and studies that make absolutely no sense whatsoever lol

They are always asking what's going on, how much was the raise or don't even know action is on them all together!! Very annoying! On the other hand online is diferent so music should not affect a players attention so I'd listen to rap n rnb!!

Usually its people who have both earbuds on and the music is loud enough that neighbors might hear it if the casino was quiet. Either that or trying to disguise a quick nap. I usually have one in my ear and a free ear to hear whats going on at the table at all times.

I've never listened to music while playing poker, but I almost always have a TV on to. This helps me relax as the noise keps me from getting ansy and overly aggressive due to boredom. Having some background noise deffinately helps me concentrate on the game.

You are listening something you love and it makes you feel better,and relaxed.... I cant even sleep without music.... Scientist came to conclusion that cows that listen music give more milk than cows that doesnt listen music... So you should play better with music....
