HOW~`S that? Have YOU been to Wales?Non Welch people will not understand what a Welch person is saying.
This sounds great .... seeing that I love to fish, ski, bike, golf and play poker. I'm curious what area this is. Also is it difficult for someone from the US to move to Canada ?
I do it all the time, not an official move but I spend months in other countries. I usually do 3-4 months in one and then go elsewhere. I do more than 1,500 a month but still it can be done at that. Im back in the US now but plan to leave for belize in like 2 weeks. I just got back from 3 months in Thailand where my monthly income was allowing me to have lots of fun. Learned some new games there, and played in a lot live stuff as well.
And it dont have to be a third world country, Just good exchange rates, or change the currency you play for.
speaking of rap...this thread has inspired me to change my profile picture by the end of the night once i find a manly picture of my idol rapper =] be on the lookout
There's a large Filipino population in San Diego -- some of my friends have often spoken of returning 'home' because the cost of living is lower there? They've indicated one could very comfortably live on USN retirement while having a cook, housekeeper & chauffer in addition to the island just being beautiful? Perhaps they have an advantage since they can shop @ the Commissary & Exchange though?
they made it a lot more easyer in the last 2 years
and my thai wife knew the way around all the legal problems.
i still cannot get a permanent visum yet.
can get a 11 month visa now although i am retired.
but easy to renew that one, just have to go short abroad
and ask another one(in camboja or singapore)
can get a permanent as soon i am pensioned at 60 year.
Whats the internet access like?
This post was good. There will always be people telling you that you are crazy to do so something like this, and the same thing if you ever try to set up your own business, but at the end of the day you should go with what your heart tells you. Providing that you have researched thoroughly and are aware of the potential pitfalls, of course. Good luck! It's a great idea as long as your doing it for the right reasons. If you're the adventure type and living abroad is something you want to do anyway and if the obstacles people have listed in this thread (language difference, being away from everything you know, culture shock...) are actually things that attract you, then by all means you should seriously consider it. Otherwise, you should think twice.
Playing poker should be the means to the end of living abroad. Not the contrary.
