In no limit it's nearly impossible to make a living live in cash games because one day you win 1000 the next day you lose it.
There are many reasons why it may be be tough to make a living playing poker these days, but this isn't one of them.

Or rather, if someone is this results oriented about it, they're probably not good enough to make a living at it.

You're absolutely right, man! NL200 is a great choice. There is not much number of FISH at the table and you can play more smart poker if you can.

My thoughts:

-Well, tbh, it could be easier than it seems. At 1/2 you only have to win 1 buyin ($200) a day to make $73,000. But, thats if you play 365 days. If you played 300 in a year you'd make 60,000.
-Although this is true, downswings can easily be a factor, and a person may be a losing player for a few days straight. It's 300 days, it will be tough to win $ everyday.
-So, if you try to make a living from 1/2, you should probably multi-table.

Btw, you're money could be taxed if you withdraw a large amount. Would withdrawing $10,000 at a time work?

It depends on more factors, especially volume, also from which country you are. For example in my country, you can live from 500 euro/month (poor life but you can :D), what is impossible in countries like UK, germany etc...

1/2 are not that fun for me. 2/4 are really minimum you want to play in, since you can make from one table 4£ an hour which is not that really bad.
Here is my grapgh from 2/4 stakes, and I did 2$ buyin
