I have 3 casino's to choose from in my local town. They all have decent tournies with good players and bad ones and they are great fun. But none of them have Ante's in them, which dissapoints me. I find that if u had ante's in the tournies then it make the game more aggressive and ante's make it great to try steal pots to earn some extra chips for ur stack.
Any1 else have this problems in their local casinos?

Something to keep in mind is that having antes in a live tournament will often chew into the number of hands per hour you see, especially in low buy-in tournaments where the dealer constantly has to nag the players to ante up, then sort out the argument over who forgot to put in their ante. When you're playing in a tournament that's already got short levels (say 30 minutes or less) this can be a real issue.

Don't think I've seen my local casino use them (in a hold 'em tournament, at any rate) for anything with a buy-in under $500.

Agree in principle though, they can be a welcome addition to a structure that favours the aggressive players if the above problems can be overcome.

that is a good point on how it can slow the game down. Would love to play in a majour tournie with a buy-in over $500. Bet the structure is great for them!
