Thank you :) It was inspired because of your blog post which I couldn't agree more with! Let's hope someone see's it!

Yes, I am reaaaally hoping that!

Nice blog post Katie.

I'm a guy who plays a ton of live poker and yes, as a social game I'd love to have more women in poker.
Thanks, and I am glad to hear it! :)

Hi Katie,

As I said earlier to you great piece.
I have written below what pokerstars reply was to male players playing at our table in the sunday $55.

'We welcome reports such as these as it is vital to us that the integrity of our women-only games is not damaged by male participants posing as females.

In situations where there is evidence to support such claims we will gladly investigate them, however this can only be done when a player has made a clear admission in chat stating that they are not truly a female.'

Can't see this happening any time soon!!

You got my voteee.

I'm 100% for increasing the attractiveness of the game of poker to women and I think more and better/bigger all female poker tournaments is a great way to do it.

I agree with the part about switching trny dates once they are posted as open for registration. That is wrong. All the stuff about women only stuff, i don't agree. Unless you are telling me that Men play poker way better than women, so they should have their own games. Then I guess I would say OK ,

As said above it's not about women not being on the same field skill wise as men (Which after adjusting for population size I doubt to be true) but it's about getting more women into the game.

I probably wouldn't be as quick or willing to enter a poker tournament (especially for the first time) if the field were a large majority of women only. I would probably feel somewhat out of place. Yet every non Women's only poker tournaments are like this for women.

It is somewhat of a bad atmosphere to get the female population comfortable playing poker.

Have you tried asking them their Real name?

"Bob....... Oops... I meant...... Krystal?" :D

I've also found guys in these! Male usernames and male pictures! It's not fair, surely if a site is going to make games with criteria they should be ensuring that people meet that criteria and not making us have to find these people for them?? Don't they have a verifying process? Ensuring people are who they say they are? Grrrrrr!

Well to be fair some of those guys are confused. Take Kidkvno for example I've personally seen him walking around in high heels and a dress... I can't unsee it either.. :(

Hi, I know I'm a bit late catching up with this thread, but i just wanted to add my support for you & your post.
You bring up some very good points & convey them very eloquently indeed.

We loose Vicky Coren that i respect very much and they give us someone's girlfriend to be our inspiration:(

I also agree with this post about PS losing perhaps their best ambassador for the game, in the form of Vicky Coren. Who bravely refused to sell out her principles for the love of money... Obviously PS/Amaya are always going to pursue ever greater profits, but it doesn't mean we have to be happy about it. If only more people, in all walks of life, had a spine like Vicky; surely the world would be a far better place....

Anyway, you have my vote to fill the void left behind by Mrs. Coren Mitchell.

I think many online poker sites could learn alot from that blog post. I agree, that it isn't about women playing worse or better than men, it's about being among other women in a predominantly male environment. I'd love to see ladies only games on PartyPoker, I rarely see women on my tables in tourneys because we tend to be spaced among the tables which is such a shame. I love chatting while playing and guys seem to be so quiet which is another reason a female only game would be fun :(
Lets hope we get something like that, there seem to be alot of tourneys that exclude people on many other factors (UK only, certain forums, newbies only etc) we need more women to feel comfortable in the poker world, we are very few and far between.

Now lets swap out the term women for black people and men for white/Asian people, and ask yourself if you'd be in favor of black only tables or racial segregation to make a group feel more comfortable?

Hmmm, hmmmm, hmmmm.
