This was priceless...

“Kids are extremely vulnerable to gambling addiction,” said Mr. Hills, who likened poker to a “gateway drug” that leads to the harder stuff like craps and slot machines.

I'll be the seedy dude in the corner of the poker room with bad cologne on with an overcoat, and I'll lure unsuspecting young poker players over and say "Hey kid ... want to try .... slots!"

It only makes sense. The first paragraph, or so, spells it out. And I quote "They argue that the game, which is probability-based and requires risk assessment, situational analysis and a gift for reading people, can be an effective teaching tool, whether for middle school math or in business and law classes." They also mention the games ability to peak the interest of younger people. I say again, it's just common sense.
