I think that time management is most important. The goal is to play less, not more. To me, grinding means being able to walk away from the table, after a short period of time, with a small profit or a small loss. People who aren't capable of this are gamblers, not grinders.

honestly, like 11 years. not 11 years of straight grinding more like going thru phases where i played a lot (lost a lot) but learned all kinds of angles to poker. i learned PLO which brought me to the next level, and i trained myself to not get stressed over losing money.

Hey best of luck you! You are staring on the dream voyage that many of us dream about, but few will actually "go for it". Maybe one day when you are crushing games at the wsop in Vegas, you will give us early posters first crack at a piece of your ACTION!

Have you had any private one on one coaching? If so, how much?

How much time per day or week or month (whatever makes sense to you) do you spend playing vs studying/analyzing?

And you MIGHT want to avoid using the term "angle" anywhere near an actual table - but I know what you intended! LOL It's all good!!

Seriously, good luck from this casual low/micro stakes player!

Good results in the professional

It will be a while before I get to professionalization I hope one day I get there, but it is a little difficult because I have no time to play

I wish you the best of luck in your endeavor, and you have very good results in this new phase of poker

I hope you post your blog so we can follow your progress. The thought of leaving my day job to go pro (if I was a good player lol) is terrifying. I think it's brave, and I wish you the best of luck! Follow the dream :)

If your good enough you don't need good luck wishes. And if your not luck is not enough.

I wish the best for you. Bankroll management is crucial. I will try to follow your progess. Why did you make this decision? Personally, I find it risky as compared to have a job where you know you will earn you salary each month, but that depends on your risk aversion.

Anyways, I wish the best for you!

It is risky and my starting roll may very well be closer to 30k

I am guessing that you need to take living expenses out the $20K or have living cost been put aside for a while? With that in mind, what are you expecting to earn per month for your first year? I hope that's not too personal, planning on doing the same thing and just interested in the thought process.

Bro, I know my advice is not what you want to hear, but it comes from the heart, so here it is: Don't turn pro in December.Instead, make 3 posts daily on CC, and in 30 days apply for Freeroll Club membership. Apply for the ACR Stormer program and stream the freerolls on Twitch, I heard they give you real tournament money for that. Gain experience first, before blowing your 20 grant savings.

I looked you up on sharkscope and you are a losing player, -$277 to be exact, playing small buy-in tournaments. I understand that live poker is different than online, but not different enough to turn a losing player into a professional.

Having a financial cushion is great, and you could become a student of poker first, playing freerolls and studying the game full time, and once you master the game of poker and achieve outstanding impulse control you can conquer the casino tables.

Good luck in everything you do, please forgive me for not being supportive to your decision, I don't mean any disrespect whatsoever, just giving you an honest opinion about the situation, that's all.

Allow me to share a few words of wisdom from Sun tze art of war with you.
Keep these in mind, it will help you along the way to achieve your goal.

1) 计划赶不上变化
It means: No matter how well your plan is, be prepared to overcome unforeseen circumstances

2) 知己知彼,百战不殆
It means: Know yourself and know your enemy, then you will not be defeated

3) 走为上策
It means: When you know you are defeated, don't be stubborn. Retreat is your best option, prepare yourself again for a comeback.

You have a good idea and desire. Good luck with the game. It will be interesting to see how things go. I hope all will be ok. The main thing is to monitor the bankroll, observe the sobriety of the mind in the game😎
