I'd just watch your body language instead. Get more from that than staring at someone's eyes. Leave the sunglasses for outdoors. You aren't on tour. ;)

lol i know i know people think the sunglasses are dumb.. i guess its become a sort of security blanket now haha and im def not wearing them to hide MY tells i just like them so i can look for other peoples tells without them knowing for sure im watching i know that 90% of players at 1/2 arent looking for tells but they often give up info

I don't think you were being rude but I agree with one of the first posts to not tell people what you had because they probably won't believe you. When I have played live I was fortunate enough to get a some cool tables where the players were very vocal on hands and rarely mucked but I'm sure this is a rarity. The lady was probably mad cause you chased and hit but that was her fault for not protecting her boys preflop. So that's why she responded in that way.

Were you rude ? Nope.
I am not rest home old but my hair color is completely grey , I have gotten past being concerned with what a stranger may think of me in many areas of life and poker is one of them. A great tool I use in dealing with trash talkers is to simply smile and chuckle under my breath and generally ignore them as a person from that point on treating them as if they do not exist. It is maddening to them and they play at me out of anger which is a poor decision making tool for them.

Were you rude? No.

I think they were rude by sitting there flapping their gums about you though.

I have had many neighbors at the table sit there and talk trash about me after I took down a big pot with no showdown.

It just shows they are idiots. Poker has nothing to do with emotions. I hope you took some more money off them because they were obviously STEAMING.

You weren't being rude at all.She was on tilt and went a little off the deep end.In live games you get exactly how the other players feel.Online not so much cause they normally just tilt to themselves but live tilt is more cartoonish.I've seen people completely lose it and can't removed from the casino.I almost had one of those moments raising big preflop with A's and getting a call flop came out J,7,10.I bet big again and he reraised I push and he instacalls.I'm amazed as I look down at 7 10.Turn Q River 7.Need less to say it was the first hand I played in the half hour sitting at the table.I left shortly after.

One time I was playing live cash game at Pechanga, which I rarely do. on one particular good hand I somehow realized if I stared this guy down while I was betting he wouldn't fold, so I did and bet flop turn river, took down a good pot, and for some reason it haunts me to this day. I typically am shy, and when playing poker will be looking down most the time, keeping to myself, and going out of my way to be and appear non-confrontational as possible. I don't know what got into me that one hand, but I regret it for some reason, felt like I was being a jerk I guess. Anyways I will never do that again.

when it comes to money even the meekest can be mean after losing a pot...1000 times worse online because theres no physical repercussion..
if people cant outwit you or are physically weaker then they will bark and whine ...by not responding you let them continue... next time say i'm sorry if i offended you( after removing you're glasses and looking at them)

No, you were actually nice to tell them what you had!
But the older group gets real fired up when the lose a big hand! And you can, indeed, use that to your advantage at the tables!
The raybans comment was actually a bonus to you...they were tilted so time to use that and sounds like you did!

Why would he ever say sorry? I wouldn't. They are sitting there talking trash. If anything I would try to get them steamed even worse. Rude people who don't show respect, don't deserve any respect. I rarely tilt at the table. Let them be mad.

Initially before you spoke up, do you think they were talking loud enough to make sure you heard them?.....so as to get a response from you? Sometimes the people who are fish at poker are smart in other ways.
I had a similar thing happen to me once. I realized afterwards they were sort of using the loud convo to draw me into, their discussion. It was like once I talked to them directly it gave them permission like opening a door of familiarity to speak/rail on me the rest of the session. I can't help but think if I had been quiet they just would have continued to muttering angrily to themselves.

I dont think they were trying to get me to hear them at first the woman was explaining to the guy why she folded and he was tellin her it was bad to fold and i just wanted to be nice (i know poker isnt about being nice and you shouldnt give out info) so i just told her so she would know she made a good lay down.. she reminded me of my grandma lol

And in some cases i dont mind giving out certain info to try to give mysepf a certain table image... After that hand im sure it seemed to her at least that i was willing to chase draws.. which would allow me to bluff in spots where draws hit or get payed off if she thinks im bluffing when a draw misses...

trying to tilt fish is awful, as you dont know how to adjust to their tilt. and you want them to have fun donating

true...never get in the middle of an argument...especially couples or brothers...they will always turn on the outsider.

I think if they call you rude, then you show them rude. This makes me think about my buddy D. He's one of those guys that can be a smart ass with the type of subtle remarks that make you go "wait, what?" a couple of minutes later.

One night some guy came into the pool hall trying to show off for his girlfriend, with that "these guys think they're good" attitude. D said something that made the guy hot enough to get up in his face for a second. Later on, after the guy had lost $350 and snapped a $600 pool cue across his knee, D told us he wasn't even being a smart ass until the guy got in his face. Right before he went out the door, D told him he shouldn't have broken that nice pool stick, that he would have given him $200 for it.
