I remember seing teens in films playing poker in the street at may be 14! Do you think this too young?
I think from a purely strategic point of view, that one can start playing poker at any age. It's just like any other cards game and is a great way to learn math, logic, and other skills.
The issue is around the gambling element and how that can warp the brain a little bit or put the youth on a high. For this reason I think that the gambling side shouldn't really be included until late teens perhaps. That being said if the teacher is teaching investment strategy and proper
bankroll / money management then perhaps 13 is fine, when kids would start working.
As for the gambling... I mean how old does a kid have to be to go to carnivals and chucky-cheese. Because those are basically places that get kids prepped for gambling for
real money later, so from a societal perspective it would seem like they think any age is fine...
