Hi people just a quick question and I can't find it anywhere.

How much rake am I am paying at the micro-limits? How does this compare with vpps as well?

I've searched on google and people are saying rake Isn't taken until $1 has reached the pot, is this correct? Also this VIP programme that pokerstars has, you get rewarded per how much rake is paid. Is this the hand as a whole?

IE: If a pot got to $10.00 then x amount would be taken as rake which then gets paid back in FPP's?

I can find on the pokerstars website about how you earn vpps/fpps through paying rake in the games which I understand. I just don't understand the how much is paid, if its the full pot amount which then a percentage is taken and dived between players evenly regardless of how many folded? etcetc.

If you can answer my questions then this would be great or give me a run down on how it all works.

Many thanks!

I'm not sure about poker stars but at FTP the lowest limits are raked at $.01 for every $.20 in the pot up to $3 which means that a pot would have to be $60 before the rake would be maxed out, not something that is likely to happen at .02/.05.

Almost every major site abides by the No-Flop-No-Drop rule which means that unless 2 or more players see a flop there is no rake taken. So if someone bets and folds to a raise the winner takes the whole pot without rake.

There are many people, including myself, that believe that the rake in the lowest limits is so high as to make the game un-winnable in the long run without a really good rakeback program (PokerStars has no rakeback program). Most of the signed pros have deals with their sponsored sites which allow them to play completely without rake making any limit profitable. For the rest of us the best way to beat the rake is to try to play a tight aggressive style and try to take downas many pots preflop as possible by entering with a raise. Also treat the lowest limits as learning experiences only and try to move up to limits where the biggest reasonable pots will exceed the cap on rakes, at least .10/.25.

Pokerstars uses the dealt rake method which means if you are dealt into the hand then you receive FPP's for it regardless is you contribute to the pot or not.
