Its not how much to start with is how to keep it growing. The hardest part is the mental game. If you can conquer it then everything else should flow nicely.

All those people you named have other revenue streams that are more reliable than poker, and merely dabble in poker as a hobby. So my answer is still the same if you are STRIVING to be a professional poker player, AND you've saved 60 thousand dollars FROM poker, then you most definitely could and should turn pro. ;)
Hi,
So you mean anybody who has 60k in BR is ready to be a Professional poker player?
Luis Ronaldo? Ben Affleck? Micheal Phelps? Matt Damon? Kevin Hart? Teddy Sheringham?
I can name you at least a few dozens more.
Surely you know their names eh?
Are they Pro?

Forgot the name of one player but he made 20$ from a freeroll and turned it into millions over a few years time.

It hard to say, because it"s not so important How Much.
in theory you can win in a freeroll and after win in a main event and her you are!!
you are champion and have much money.
also you can find in the internet free books and raise your level and be ready to fight with champions.
so that is important in this case? only your mastery!!! and a little luck ;)

you are right but there is a second side to the coin...

for example:
  • you said it is not constant rest - but I don"t know any work where you can have entertainments every time. Maybe deputies in the counties of the former USSR. :D:DOk Doctors - sometimes they must work at night, sometimes they must work hard, and if Pro player sometimes can say I should have a rest today. today not my day and just go to bed. but Doctors can not do this, they MUST help people. of course there are many fail doctors but there are many fail pro players too :). in the Americans movees even with pro player something happens so it just movee.
  • About profits for society - all our lifes now it is onlu runing for money. of course there are many peoples who have enough money but they do not care about other people and do not help them. so what benefits from people who have enough money but doing nothing for society??? Today most people do only one thing - buy a sell... that is all. Look at the nature - there is no benefits for society only for a small handful of people. so if you like play poker for example you can earn money and do something else in your free time and the main thing is that you will have fun from life.
  • of corse totally you are right and I do not live from earns of Poker but why do not if succeed. of course there are many risks in Poker but to be a good doctor you also have to study hard for a long time. ;)
A professional poker player is a person who makes a living by playing. As a rule, such a person has no other job, and all his money he gets from the game. Many poker professionals sign contracts with poker rooms and also receive income from their advertising.

First of all, you need to understand that the work of a professional poker player is hard work, not constant rest and entertainment, as shown to us in American films. You will have to devote your whole life to poker and You will have no other job than poker. Of course, now it seems to you a plus, but imagine for a moment that You do not know how to do anything but play poker. And, accordingly, for society You do not bring any benefit. Will it be pleasant for You to live with such a thought? In addition, you need to clearly understand how much money You need for a comfortable life, and where you plan to earn this money. If you do not live near any gaming area, it means that you will play poker over the Internet. It is best for these purposes to choose a large poker room, for example, PokerStars – it is always possible to find suitable opponents. And in conclusion I want to say the most important advice. If you try to become a professional in poker, then always correctly assess the risks and possible income from this idea. It is necessary to understand that You will have to spend a huge amount of time and nerves, and it is not necessarily that these costs will be repaid in full. Do not forget that in professional sports, success is achieved by a few, and in poker-even less. How many of Your friends players who constantly earn a game? And doctors, teachers, businessman, earning a “more traditional " activity? The same…
