I started playing regular poker in High School, then graduated to Texas Hold 'Em in 2000 at work. It has been fun and rewarding with some bumps along the way. I even tied the knot in Vegas 7-7-7 playing poker with my future ex-wife. I guess you can't win them all!

I only play poker seriously for almost 6months. I studied for 6months straight without playing just figuring out the game and coming up with ideas of beating the micros, I am currently winning in these stakes at the moment.

I've played for about four years. I started out online on pokerstars and added in 888 and unibet and some others that I rarely play on because I'm not so keen on the software, or the games as the case may be.

I play tournaments and sit and gos; I don't enjoy playing cash and I'm pretty bad at it. Not that I'm amazing at tournaments either. I've studied somewhat, but not really consistently enough.

I've played some live tournaments; I'm a bit freaked out by playing live because I tend to be uncomfortable in big rooms full of people that I don't know. I feel more comfortable if there are a few people there who I know. I really didn't enjoy playing a little tournament at a casino where I only knew one person, a friend who I'd gone there with, and who was on a different table. I possibly subconsciously busted early so I could get out of there!

Poker, I have been playing now for over 40 years, I played a lot of Stud and 5 card draw in my younger days and only got into Texas Holdem around 20 years ago. I did play a lot of 3 card Brag and other games like Cribbage, Welsh Don, blackjack, Shoot and many more games since I was old enough to hold a deck of cards.
Any game I could make money at, I have tried, and was always up for a game in any pub I walked into. Cards, Dominoes, Darts, Snooker, Pool, as long as there was a prize at the end, I was up for it.
You just had to be wise to the fact a lot of hustlers tried to con you, and once they wanted to start raising the ante, you got out as soon as you could, they always worked in pairs and playing for low stakes would throw a couple of games and then want to raise the stakes to get their money back.
Never worked on my friends or myself, as we knew the con they were trying to pull.
Once my Son and a friend of his were on leave from the British Army, we went out for a friendly game of pool and a few drinks, we had been playing for about an hour when 2 guys walked in and asked if we were interested in playing 4 handed for £1.00 each, I declined because I knew their reputation.
My Son and his friend accepted and I whispered to my Son " Watch out Son these two are on the make" and he said "it's O.K. Dad we know what we are doing".
Sure enough after losing the first 2 games, they asked to up the stakes to £10.00, my Son and his friend quickly accepted the bet, and I said to my Son " I told you these two were up to something" he replied " I know Dad, but what these two don't know is my mate is the Regimental Snooker Champion, and has not started playing yet".
They 7 balled the other two guys and took their money off them. Nice when 2 con-men get beaten at their own game.

When the fun Stops, STOP!

I have been playing for 15 years, albeit with interruptions, now I play every day, I will say one thing that a break in poker is harmful, you need to play constantly, only then you will not lose your flair, intuition and skills.

How long have I played? This question has a couple different parts for me. I have played poker for a minimum of 30 years. Of course, I have only begun to study poker for about 5 years. I used to play only very randomly, I have always had a decent intuition when it came to hand strength and I never really chased hands , but I never thought about poker math. It just made sense to me. I am an engineer by trade but I was never a math wizard.

One other thing I would like to add. If you play poker for a year, daily, and then stop for 6 months. You almost have to start over because the game is now changing every couple of months with everyone getting better at the games. If you enjoy the game, fit it into your routine so you stay relevant.

I have been playing poker for 3 years, I have not had great achievements, but I think everything is ahead of me, the main thing is patience and a desire to play.

I learnt watching channel 121 in SA after a major eye op. I had to lie flat for 6 weeks. As a family we always played card games. I learnt to play online after that but SA was restricted on most sites so I don’t get to play much😢

I have been playing poker as an amateur since 2013.since 2021, it has become possible to play like a professional. To be a professional, you need to play a lot of distance on your limits and work a lot in programs. If you play a lot of freerolls and do not play poker and do not discuss the hands on the forums and do not build a bankroll and play without discipline according to the rules of bankroll management, you will be stuck in freerolls for a long time and go bankrupt, as it was with me quite recently.I won big, then played Sunday tournaments not on the bankroll, which led to the bankruptcy of my account.Starting all over again, like Groundhog Day.Not repeat my mistakes, be smarter.Good luck at the tables, the poker path is long,it all depends on you how long you will train and go to wins and poker titles.

I've been playing poker for about 10 years, I think. It was a beautiful experience and it still is.

First met the game 5 years ago. Started playing regularly instantly after the first 1-2 months. Lived off live cash for about half a year but my bankroll management was horrible horrible and my risk tolerance is too high in the first place so regardless of any x bb/100 edge I may have had, losing the initial roll was foreseenably very possible.. :D
