I personally like Bovada but, it takes some getting used to. Once you get used to it, it's not bad.

I play mostly on Bovada... initially the anonymity thing was very annoying but were all the same.

It has helped my game by not relying on tracked histories. After 10 hands u can pretty much tell what type of style people are playing... it will vary short stack or if they become big stack but generally nobody "switches" up... lol... I do but its selective...

If bovada does have bots then wouldn't they ko each other... I been playing some CPU on free App just to see if I can beat a bot... man I wish they had bots.

If you like playing sit and go tables yes bovada would not be fun... I gave that up like a year ago.

I agree that ACR software is a joke and their MTT selection is not very good...this is to bad cause I find the competion softer there than anywhere else....

Then why not stop complaining and just play there?

Its not cosmetic. Its bugs that steer me away. Bugs that cost me money.

Bovada then?
I don't personally play there ..but it looks pretty :p

tbh, you're not going to find a huge selection of rooms to play at in the states that don't come with loads of software issues.
It's probably more cost efficient to choose based on traffic and softest play.

That doesn't necessarily mean that ACR is the softest around either.
That's honestly something each player needs to decide for themselves.

I based what I wrote off of what he had stated. He seems to think they're extremely soft.. so playing there should be very profitable.

Couldn't disagree more. Being able to learn your opponents through history has ALWAYS been a part of poker, live or online. That won't change. Bovada is on its own there and probably will remain that way.

If i've seen you 5bet 50 times and you've ONLY shown down with AA, then its safe to say when you just 5bet me that you have AA and im dominated. This can happen in live just as easily if you're attentive to detail and have a good memory. So you wouldn't use that to your advantage? You'd rather just go in blind every hand and never have a range for villain? Flawed thinking...

how many hands would you have to see that i 5 bet aa 50 times..?

by using trackers and having access to other software and coaching and forums
poker has become too competitive to overcome the rake...especially in the usa..without most recreational players.

the bubble has burst on this pyramid...like the gold rush atmosphere...the small minority who get in on something early profit then the rest grind hard for crumbs

here's a possible idea ...make poker like a home game...rent the virtual table for a set fee and block of time...higher stakes equals lower rake %...off hours = cheaper rates...
a dedicated 2 or 4 or more hour ring tournament.(blinds stay the same thruout)..with some kind of penalty for quitting so there is no break up of the game..

sort of the opposite of rush poker...the challenge being to play and adapt to unknown players...

Just a random example. But really, if we're at the same home game or casino often, there's no reason I wouldn't learn your stats through time is there? Unless i'm lazy and don't bother to remember. Obv not gonna be down to exact VPIP/PFR/AF/3bet in CO vs a raise from UTG, but we will have a range for opponent, plus an idea of how he plays certain hands IP/OOP, Vs raise, vs 3bet etc etc

Well sure but the site couldn't be dedicated to that. Who wants to play one format only? So that could certainly be a mode like rush and zoom all its own. But it wouldn't work as a stand-alone.

This reminded me of a product that made the threads here a couple of years ago. It was essentially a cardless, dealerless live poker table played with a mouse (or dedicated buttons) and separate vid screens. So you or I could sit at this table, with other live bodies, and still have most of the conveniences of internet poker, yet the fun of live poker. IIRC, we poo poo'ed the notion at that time.

Since casino's tend to not like to spread poker tables because they really don't make much money for the casino's, this could be a win win solution for those casino's. Hell, they might not even need to have the real estate onsite, they could just provide the game, and financials for local bars to spread poker promo's.

The US market will change more than most of us want. With the states involved wanting to maximize profits, they will almost have to enact provisions that many will hate, not unlike the Bovada anon games, or this new push by Revolution and Party to prevent the sharks from feeding on the fish, I can see the states making any external software (read trackers) a violation of state laws or rules. Both the casino's and the states will want to enhance the entertainment value of OLP, while attempting to make for a Disney like experience where no one suffers much.

The future of OLP in the USA, IMHO, is tourney's.

There have been a couple different iterations of these types of concepts. Ones with just webcams where your avatar is now your live video. Another added a live dealer to the mix, so the table would be a live video looking down on a poker table and the dealer would deal as usual, and your cards would be projected on your screen either by RFID tags in them or by the dealer carefully placing the cards in the view of the camera.

Both kinds have been pretty ignored. 888 still has webcam tables, but I think Pokerview was the most successful with them, if you can really call it success since they are no longer doing those tables.

I can't remember the names of any of the sites with live dealers, but it doesn't really matter since none of them have grown into anything, they are probably all gone now.
