Ok I've finally joined Full tilt but don't have any money to put in my account so i've been playing the aussie.net and after dark freerolls(1 player advances).

I'm used to playing complete idiots on 333 and Ladbrokes, but my are these people absolute morons, i keepmaking the final 30's but not having much success thereafter, it's basically all-in or fold everyhand. Any tips?(other than being patient as i've tried this and keep getting outdrawn even when i'm ahead) - [old link~tb]

Full Tilt Freerolls...

Yeah those full tilt freerolls for the aussie millions and poker after dark and well frankly all freerolls are donkfest! Advice tough be patient and wait for premium hands for the all in fest...try to accumulate some decent or managable chip stack and then play premium hands and well timed semi bluffs and bluffs. Also pray for luck and the nuts hand alot,as if you do all this you have a pretty good chance finishing in themoney, but even then maybe not b/c its a freeroll and alot ALOT of donks and beginners play in these

Be patient and when you have a hand, be hyper-aggressive. Watch for weakness to steal blinds. Bluffs are tough to pull off, you might get some respect in the higher blinds, but in the first 1/2 of the match, expect people to call you with anything.

Bad part about these donkfests is that it's winner-take-all. I've been at many final tables only to get out-drawn by 2%-ers.

It's fun. I play it like solitare when I want to kill some time.

I think there's two schools of thought: one is just to wait for a good hand. By the time you get one, half the field will probably have dropped out and there'll still be people waiting to pay you off.

The other is just to go with the flow and shove the first hand like everyone else, safe in the knowledge that there'll be another one starting in a few minutes and you'll have wasted the minimum amount of time possible if you don't quadruple up immediately.

I've won a couple of them, using both strategies.

These are the worst example of poker around. You would do better playing the regular freerolls although they only pay 1% of the field. Even better are the forum freerolls (FTP forum, Cardschat and others). There are enough to fill all your free time if you search for them.

If you can't beat em...join em! I'll play any garbage hand until I get a nice stack and sit back until they start playing real poker.

Ok decided to Multi table these things 4 at a time with the all-in or fold strategy for thr first half hour and got a finish of 4th(not bad considering I played about 10 tables) my usual problem though of never having an average sized stack and alway being about half the average, this is becoming a common problem on mtt's, sng, freerolls and live.
