Final Table

Does anyone know why the final table at WPT is only 6 people? Someone I know came in 9th in the New England Poker Classic and I was hoping to see him on TV. Do they do that just for TV, or has it always been like that?

They ususally just do that for TV. 6 handed the play is more agressive which makes it more exciting and interesting for the TV viewers.

It's all about television viewing. Of course, the fewer players, the faster the game goes, more players trying to play every hand. That's normal. That way the viewer doesn't get bored. And the players at the table even more so! Intrigue, emotions, bad beats on the river.... it's beautiful!

To get good prizes at a final table, you must be very aggressive with the short-stackers at the table. Play aggressive and don't doubt your game.

Good question, I've always noticed and never questioned it, but the answer that was posted is real, it would get long and monotonous, it's more electrifying with 6

unexpectedly, but I am reading this post being in two tournaments (freerolls), both in pretty good places with a chance to go to the final table, which I have never been to, well, good luck to me

the best strategy is if you have 15bbs in the FT the best solution is to wait for a good hand and let those in a hurry eat at the table think about the prize pool and how long it took for you to get there!
