Would you go all in with this hand? What would you have done instead?

It is JTs from Vayo vs KTc from Nguyen

Vayo: 53.5M
Nguyen: 203M

Blinds: 1.5/3M
Ante: 500K

Vayo was the big blind and Nguyen raised to 8.5M preflop and Vayo moved in all-in after a short moment, and Nguyen called right away.

Then the flop comes as Kd 9c 7d
The turn and river 2s and 3h

What will you do if you are in Vayo's position?

If I were in his position, I would have played a lot of hands differently. He played so weak, it was sad to watch.

Shove is ok, he often has two live cards, but he could also probably just call and if he catches a piece of the flop just go with it.

I'd take the risk and put all that was left was the risk sometimes justifies the means))

I would not have gone all in with these cards, even at heads up. A simple call would suffice.

I would just call and fold after the flop if the opponent raised again.

the way he played previous hands before that has proven that he was tired alr. I might not do the same way he did but after 10 hours of playing who knows

It was really unexpected move by Vayo after his countless folds. Nguyen deserved this 1st place, Vayo played very very passive abc-poker, Bax had to ship this 2nd place, but stupid cooler ...

I would have shoved with JT, Nyugen could have had any 2 cards, unfortunately he had the better hand. After Vayo played so passively, his shove could easily have gotten thru, and I think frustration played a part in finally getting this thing over with. I commend his grinding for so long being mainly card dead and facing Nyugen's aggression. It was a fabulous final table and heads-up match.

The shove was fine there and was one of the only things Vayo did right that entire Hu match. It was very frustrating to watch him limp/fold pretty much everything and never nut up and actually bet when he was ahead. He was way too passive everywhere. Qui exploited the hell out of him and Vayo kept letting it happen. It looked like his plan was to trap Qui and induce a mistake, but when that situation arose he just never followed through and pulled the trigger.

My wife and I watched it and at one point I turned to her and said "it's like Vayo was paid to take a dive". I just couldn't believe that such an accomplished player was letting himself get hammered so badly and not adjusting to it until he was down to 12 bigs from over 100. So sad. At least the rest of the play leading up to the hu was entertaining.
