I have made this same mistake one other time. I thought I was registering for a 2.20 buy in regular big tourney. I by mistake registering for a tourney that was 6 player per table max. I couldn't catch a hand and the players were overly aggressive.
I ended up close to the money with hardly a hand played. I went all in with QQ guy calls out of position with A 7 off and catches an A on the river of course. If you are not used to these 6 player max tourneys they are a lot different to play than you would think.
I had a bad run and just grinded my way from .40 with a 10 fpp tourney. I had just 6.00 from a lot of hard work. I wasted the 2.20, I then played a regular big tourney and made it to 9.00.
