I constantly here this term being said at tables, usually when a person is upset. But can't find the term in any poker glossary. Could someone please enlighten me?

Quite often you find that bad poker players accuse virtually all the other players in the world of being donkeys or fish, and they don't actually seem to realise that it is their own bad play which creates many of their problems.

But, if you have a big stack, sometimes you can take away a donkey's effectiveness ;)

There is another side of the issue. Donkeys are just creative players who see possibilites where other see none.

A donkey is someone who took the money that was rightfully yours when you were dealt a good starting hand.

By law, if you wait for a good starting hand and are dealt one, you are entitled to profit on the hand. A donkey is someone who doesn't respect that and tries (sometimes succeeding) to hit trips on his 4/2 sooooted.

A player who sees over 45% of the flops is a donkey.........

Ore if a tight player reraises me allin with a bad hand

i think.......

fish is the american term for donk and donk is australian imho both mean the same thing fish and shark seem more efficient as you have both ends of the spectrum . Besides, who wants to eat a donkey? and what could? SHARKS gobbling up fishies is better so lets ban the word DONK and keep it evolutionary with the weak being eaten by the strong,
donkeys are sterile too so its a cruder insult .....wait a minute, im not biologist/genetecist....
DONK IS BAD.............SHARK IS GOOD...................END OF STORY

IMHO
A DONK is someone who beats you with a poor hand.
A FISH is someone You beat when he has a poor hand.
