For me, poker is an additional income and just a hobby. But in the future, I want poker to become my main income. After all, doing what you love and enjoying and earning a pretty good income is great, and not everyone who works at a job can boast of that

For me poker is a hobby that gives me an extra money every month, of course I have good and bad months - and this is one of the reasons I could never be a poker pro, it's too much pressure to have good months.

I read recently that today (in 2023) the average wage for a 'Professional' Poker player = $21/hr.
A tough job for a small wage. Things have changed significantly in the past 15years. Before 2010, you didn't even need to be very good to be able to be a winning player. I've seen a number of pros from back then who have given it another shot after 2020, dropping down in avg. buyin from ~$100 down to $25 & have not been able to be successful and ended up quitting (again). Even some who were at one time ranked in the Top 10 of all online HSMTT players. The game has changed.
