A better question would be can you make money playing poker? Yes you can make money and lots of it but making money playing poker is not easy money. It take time and lots of it while training to become a real winning player. Yes you can get a big win on a good day without a lot of training but its a rare thing. Most players will lose money overall.

Playing poker makes me money, but not as much as I would like. For me, playing poker is more fun than earning, although I play quite consistently and have income from the game practically every month.

I´m losing today -$60 in cases like this! What ever you do, you lose. Save! Forget the long term.
In every turnament comes the time, you need more luck as the long term allow. And look at the turnament tops...only 3 Player get really good money...and thousands of others lose for this. No skill on this planet can making you win constantly turnaments with profit, without investing befor thousands of $!
So in fact, if you maybe maybe maybe win one day much money, is this the point where you dont "win" and get profitable. It will be just the point, where you getting a lil bit invested money back. In most cases less than you had to spend before.
Therefore, no matter how good your skill is, there is an absolute high probability that you will lose all your money. You need just one time, once you're not lucky and hit not the better probability and you've lost again and again and again...that´s the reality "long term".
In the end it's 100% luck and 0 skill.

For me, the most important thing is that poker brings me pleasure. The money I manage to win is just a nice bonus for me.
