Yea this happens frequently. The only thing to do is remind yourself that calling with those same cards in the same situation again will end your tournament life 95% of the time.

I've never tilted over it, but it does annoy me.

It's incredibly frustrating at times but in the long run it's the correct move.

It does sometimes. For example once on a flop I held 66 and a bigger stack shoved in a free roll. My first thought was @%#%@ it and just call. I figured folding would be the smarter play and I folded and the bigger stack won a multi way pot with high card.

I tilt very easy, but this type of situation don't bother me even when I called pre-flop and folded because I know that at the moment that was the best move to make.

It tilts me to fold a winner and find out the fold was a mistake. That tells me the fold itself was probably due to some form of tilt, like playing scared.

It can help to figure out of the fold was a mathematical error or not, especially when you're in the blinds and antes are in play.

If you made your decision (to fold) for some reason, like you didnt like the prize to call, then it shouldnt get tilted you... Ofcourse its not fun to watch how you missed opportunity to increase your stack, but you have to take it like it was good decision preflop (if it really was lol)

I mean I can handle the initial regret in alot of games but ive got a really strong gut instinct and sometimes late in a big tournament lets say for example ive got a huge urge to shove k4 suited but I haven't got the balls to toss with that hand and im like 'I feel sooo good about this hand'
Flop the nuts and miss a treble up which would of put me In a fantastic position closing the last few hundred in the top 10
Then I do usually feel sick because its like my gut was telling me Gooooo. Lol.

but in general I know when I should be folding and long term what the likelyhood of that decision over repetition will gain in $$

Usually, when the nutz are folded, it was a suspect hand to start with, therefore I don't beat myself up for making a good pre-flop fold. Sometimes it tilts me a bit depending on the table and the flow or the cards.

My dad pretends to tilt--he never plays real money though--but he always makes a big fuss when his hand makes it big after he folds it. I can never tell how much he's kidding every time that happens...

P.S: By the way--100th post! ^_^ What was the requirement for quality posts for the freeroll club again...something like 63? I've pretty much GOT to have that by now, and it's still 3 days until I fulfill the 30 days requirement. XD

...I have way too much time on my hands... :'(

I too hate the feeling when this happens but i just think well i made the right decision if we started limping in with all these we would be leaking chips away because lets face it how many times when we make these calls hoping for the nuts do we hit? so logically this is the right way to play I just suck it up and look forward to the next hand and definitaly don't let these feelings affect my decisions for the rest of the game because as my father always said ''there's no point in crying over spilled milk'' :D

'IF' you're thinking through each decision & feel you're making the correct play given the info. & circumstances, why would you ever beat yourself up because of how the cards fall?

Epic post IMO.

I wouldn't say I tilt when I fold the nuts, but it does affect my next hand. I have often found myself folding two hands in a row that flopped the nuts and then I am very reluctant to call thinking that it cannot happen three times in a row. I have also called thinking that I am having a luck streak...but that's usually in a freeroll or something that I'm not invested much in to and wouldn't be upset having lost.

The quality posts were 65 for the freeroll tournament. you can apply, but if you are denied then you have to wait a month (I think)
