99% of everyone who plays poker will not get rich from playing. I personally play the game for fun and comradely. Live poker is all about the chit chat and who's winning, who had the horrid beat, and where is the waitress! lol. Internet poker is all about focus and improving your game. Just you and the screen. More intense and wonder. You wonder if the site is fair? You wonder if three people at your table are team playing and sharing info. Heck, in the old days of internet....I finished one tourney, Cashing 1st and 2nd place on two computers with the same isp. You don't see that any more. I have made money for decades playing this game....even before holdem became the big new thing. But never rich. You will be best if you just play for the love of the game. Good luck all.
