No, I only play poker in my spare time. The reasons for that are complex. First of all, I didn't know enough yet that I would dare to make enough money with it. You need good analysis tools to gather information about opponents. The most important thing is to determine the type of player. Because even poker professionals need a lot of fish at the table in order to be able to make a real profit. If there are no fish at the table that a poker pro can gouge, he leaves the table. Then it is no longer worthwhile for him to play. You will also have fluctuations in your income. If you can't handle it, you can't become a poker pro. I prefer to have my securities. I also don't know if I would enjoy playing on several tables at the same time for 8 hours a day. As a professional poker player, you have to play at several tables to balance out the variance. This is the only way to play enough hands.
I'm a busboy and food runner at a restaurant. As of now I'm building my bankroll to set myself up to play higher stakes. So unfortunately no I definitely don't make more money from poker than my job cause of the small deposits, some wins and losses, and bankroll building etc. But when I finally do and if I can win consistently that will make life and bill paying so much easier for me!!
PS: To any of you out there that make more money in poker than your job I envy you and wish I had your problem lol🙂

My social security and poker winnings are often in competition with each other. I think my poker winnings win more often than lose in the competition. A side note, you can only win consistently in the long run. There is no such thing as consistency in the short run so be careful not to overextend your buy ins. Currently my stake to buy in ratio is 400:1, but I'll be cashing out part of my stake soon to get the ratio back to 300:1. That's where I like to keep it.I'm a busboy and food runner at a restaurant.
