I thought to myself, to be good and win on the tables, I had to dress like a poker player.

Sometimes like to wear hoodie, it is comfy especially when you are playing during night time. Also it is kinda comfy within casino sometimes due to the AC.

truthfully poker has always been degenerate gamblers, hustlers, people trying to make an easy buck from people that have less skill. so the dress included all types. today it seems much more casual, flip flops and shorts and t-shirt so I think maybe you fit right in
in the big televised games you see many dressed in some type of costume and some very strange ones.

I definitely bring a hoodie when I play in a casino. Learned that the hard way shivering in Vegas while it was 100 degrees outside. Hard to concentrate when your teeth are clattering!
