I try to avoid the topwho se people just dont understand,
it frustrates me I try explaining strategy. If you can get inside your opponents head and picking up habits adjusting to styles of play.

I show my family my tournament winnings online and sizes of fields.
I even bet my friends ironicly** who were begging me not to gamble that I could walk into the casino on donk night late reg and win...

Unfortunately, my parents are dead. There is no shame if you do not always pay off. Especially on the internet. My parents have been worth it. Can you bankroll.

personally I try to keep the big swings to myself but forum rants are a must but IRL hush hush, they don't understand and its a waste of time explaining over and over to people from my past experiences

I like telling other poker players about my losses. I like telling family about my wins. I guess there is strategic value in this. Players will think I'm weak and family will stop trying to convince me to stop playing.....LOL

I'm only a recreational player so my wins and losses are minimal since I only make a 25.00 deposit at a few sites.
I know have 28.00 in limbo thanks to FullFlushPoker not letting me remove my bankroll off of their site I doubt I'll get it back seems like thier pulling am Everleaf move.

only time i'll share my wins/losses is when i take my family to vegas. everyone member knows i have money set aside to play poker so the expectation i've set is that i could lose it all. the thing is, i'm a winning 1/2 live cash player, but i always set the expectations that you just never know in poker.

Only time I ever discuss my wins losses is with my friends who know me and also play poker.
Too many people like to throw there two cents worth of knowledge or lack of about gambling and playing online that it's just not worth talking with them.These same folk don't realise when you try to explain that if you keep your brm under control, it's a lot healthier than smoking or drinking your life away as many of them do.

My family wouldn't understand. I have a few old "card buddies" who do though and those are the only ones I'd mention anything to. However, the only real convo I'd likely have with them is to the tone of.. what type of buy-in range I've progressed to.

well, my parents know too that i play poker online and they just love to cut me off for my studies, not just when i say that i'v won something, they can FEEL it so i rather keep the good news for myself
