For me, it depends if it is online or live. I much prefer to see and hear everything when playing live so no music, online i will go through spells of listening to music, depending on the mood and the importance, techno/trance is probably best for me, just a beat in the background that does not make you take away with your thoughts too much, if it is music with more meaning with words, i feel this can send the mind away from the focus needed for poker.

I listen to classic rock from the 70's and 80's. It doesn't distract me at all, it actually keeps me relaxed and zoned in.
