Sorry to hear you are giving up on poker. I would recommend that you try to find other poker sites that do not have as many players on them as PS and FT have. There are way to many players there to really try and learn to play the game. I also agree that maybe you need to just take a break for a while. This may renew your desire to play again in the future. May you have better luck if decide to play again.

Yeah man I'm very sorry to hear that, with those thoughts you'll never be good at poker you just have to think good think posivite and don't give up just leave it as a break and continue playing but you know lower stakes or try the freerolls something that ain't that risky looseing money and just enjoy poker don't think of if like that!

I am trying the ferguson approach. playing freerolls to build bankroll then limiting what you play by how much you have. I have cashed 8 times at bodog taking a second not long ago for $75 up over $110. Cashed 6 times at FullTilt but not enough to play much yet. and twice at pokerstars same thing. It definately teaches disiplined poker, and you learn alot without losing much. Good luck in the future.

When I first started playing at PS I was reloading about once a month, but now it's been over 1 year since I reloaded. Take a break, reads some book, maybe swich games e.g nl to limit or try sngs if you havn't already. Good luck I hope things improve.

online poker is rigged. It rewards the aggressive donks while not paying of the nits. Everyone folds every time you raise, which is like 1 or 2 times per hour. Then the one time you slow play QQ from EP, you get KO'd by A9o, on the river no less. I think scrabble would be a safer game to play.

You admit you've spent thousands. Take $3,500 and buy into a WPT BootCamp or a wsop Academy.
Your game will change drastically. I've done it twice and it worked.

This just begs the question, why do you still play if you think this like this?

Why would you give up?
All that is needed to succeed in any venture you set out to do is a little education.
Read some books, watch some videos and ask alot of questions here:)

I agree with Shinedown... Why give up? With risk comes reward.

Do you know how many times I have wanted to give up poker? You can't win them all, and you will have downswings, they could last for days, months or even years..... Step back and look at yourself when you play, make notes on yourself when you play and learn from your own mistakes.

Like mentioned before, buy some books, hell youtube some poker videos and watch them, study them, learn from what these guys do. You don't have to play like them, but study them and when you hold a hand next tournament or cash game, you'll know what to do with it a little better.

Take small breaks, study the game and you'll find yourself in a better situation.

Take a break from the game, but don't give up. Every player goes through droughts, no matter how good they are.

I like your post, I too need to improve on my aggression....thanks riverboat rat for specifics. There is a lot of advice on this thread to read books....which ones talk about aggression best? I thank you for your topic and hope you can regroup in a way that works for you. Should I post this as a new thread??

Thanks girls and guys for all the advise. I just couldn`t do it. Deleting poker stars is like cutting off my arm..lol , but I`m listening. I came in 3rd on one tourny and won 10.00 and an 4.45 for placing on another.
Egon Towst, I`ve asked a few questions here when I first joined. Read alot of threads. I just need to apply them. Read Doyles SS#2, D. Sklansky & M.Malmuth Hold`em poker, and Greenburg? (loned it out, cant find it).
But when I get on the table ..... I play mostly face cards and suited connectors, and only play trash cards if Im in the bb or sb.
So, the only thing I dont do enought is bluff......:( Maybe its my chemical make-up. I`m nice and nice girls dont win.....

I think the best thing for you to do is buy a couple of poker books and study them very hard. Also study the posts here at the forum and post more so you can get 50 posts and play in the freerolls. I would stop playing no limit ring games. When things go wrong, ask yourself what you did and if it was the correct decision.

Maybe you should mix up your game a bit instead of broadcasting you have a big hand. You must be doing it wrong or generally just don't understand the term variance. Im getting sick of this Online Poker is rigged cr**. Get over it an play snap....with a doll

Well, 50.00 a month is what I limit myself to. Maybe a extra 50. here and there twice that I remember. So that probable equals out to in 3 years .....3600. But its been great entertainment! I love it. Better than Bingo any time, for that matter a few other things too that I cant mention.

I guess most of the post are not what you wanted to hear and sorry you have had such a bad run ,just my thought on such a touchy suject is you have to find some of the holes in you game, u can play free u know and the play chips are a donk fest at first ,but when u get to the higher levels there are some good players, Books are good to, But u know your self better than us. Most of us play for money yes, stay with in our means and enjoy winning ,and losing. If u think poker is a problem for u , i would suggest u quit. gl on your future
