quick question, are you calling here on the turn thinking that your 5 may be good and hoping to get to showdown with it as well as having the straight draw. Since if you don't think your 5 is good, you should be folding to the turn bet, since you have like 0 implied odds against someone who isn't a complete tool (which in hindsight this guy is) and if you hit your straight, you will only get stacks in if villain has a full house, (or you just table select goot)

I'm definitely thinking my 5 is good here ~50% of the time and yea, this villain was a total smacktard.

I think this month I am going to take a crack at sngs and mtts, even though last month I was profitable at 10nl and break even at 25nl for a bit, I basically still played sngs and mtts with my winnings from cash and only moved up to 25nl cuz of my sng and mtt winnings...so it's logical right?

I stilll have to post my results in the nov thread :)

I also in a suprising move made a small deposit at bodog to see if the mtts/sngs/cash games are mega fishy....so far so good :)
also Bodog..HOLY RAKE...5$+1$ mtts wtf 1$ sighhh lol PS for the win ;)

Oh yeah my goals :) :

1. Don't lose
2. Win
3. 1k+ mtt cash
4. 500$ BR at Bodog
5. 2k+ BR at PS since my one goal is 1k+ cash :)
6. Win

I'm very encouraged by some of the first posts in this thread that December is going to be our month. lets make it happen people! On a side note I was very disappointed that Stars didn't roll out some kick-ass December promotion. I was secretly hoping for "double VPPS!" or something cool but alas nothing but "first time depositor freerolls" and thats not good for anyone so, whatever.

hahah I'm such an asshole. I was trying to sign up for coaching from Alan Jackson of stox, but contacted the wrong guy. Had a huge back and forth conversation with him, and after googling his sn to make sure I was sending the funds to the right guy, I realized I was talking to someone completely different. Not only that, but he's one of my least-liked coaches on stox. Sigh. Here I was thinking that I'd lucked out and was starting more coaching on Thurs.

:( Its looking like Supernova will not really be attainable for me since I am mega busy this week, have finals next week and then will be in Florida for the last 2 weeks of December. I would need to somehow accumulate 23k VPPs in that time and I just cant see it happening. I really dont want to play much (if at all) while im on vacation. I don't have a HUD on my laptop so the only thing I would be able to play really effectively would be HU and thats a VPP-earning nightmare.

Is coaching really worth it? I spend a ton of time reading crap on 2+2, and friends will do session analysis stuff for free. Sure they're better coaches than the guys I talk to on AIM, but are they 200$/hour better?

Well it depends who you're getting coached by obviously. Tons of people offer coaching on 2p2 and aren't worth anywhere near the typical 200/hr rate. Others offer dirt cheap 50/hr coaching and are more than worth it. Guys like Alan take a serious look at your game, look through your database, figure out exactly where you're at in your game and tell you what you need to do to improve, and are available any time you want to pm them for little bits of advice or HA or whatever. Those guys are well worth it.

I think players at 25nl and 50nl here on CardsChat are lucky since guys like ChuckTs, Zachvac, and BW07507 are so accommodating. The prospect of hiring a coach for $50/session is a little enticing though just to get another perspective and to get someone dedicated to "just you" ... but I think for someone playing 50nl (like me) it's not worth it until you're playing 100nl+ because the stakes just don't justify the means when you have the other resources available. However playing 200nl or 400nl+ I think you definitely should lookin into private coaching (at a good rate from a good coach) just like any pro athelete has their own personal trainer.

cliff notes of thread thus far:
-DC is the nizzles because they have vanessa
-$200+/hr for coaching is really close to the threshold of being worth it
-thread title went from awful to awesome to awful
-idk what to do about pokers
-switch is a hustler, combuboom is a customer
