So last night i played some live action poker at Firelake Grand Casino in Shawnee, Oklahoma. I was at a 3/6 limit table and the biggest mistake ever by a dealer.

There are 2 players to the see the flop, flop comes A/K/A. The BB & LP capped the pot at 15 bucks, so the dealer goes to put the turn on the table, as he does it, he knocks all the cards out of his hand all over the table. The craziest thing about it is the hands the players possessed.

BB has AA, which means he has quad Aces.
LP has KK, which is fullhouse Kings full of Aces.

Needless to say, the BB w/Quads was extremely upset, yet after throwing about a 5 minute tantrum, he ends up tipping the dealer $10 dollars, because he said that is what i would of paid you when i won this hand and apologized for the way he acted.

The way they corrected it was simple, they just chopped the pot up and gave it back to them.

I felt bad for the dealer, because he was a young guy that knew what he was doing, just an honest mistake, and he was so nervous, hands shaking and everything. They immediately pulled him off the table though, so it was kind of sad, felt bad for him.

Gutted haha. I imagine I would be uber pissed off. At least the guy did the right thing and apologised. After all it was just an accident.

How do you knock cards out of your own hand. Was he drunk?

I agree with johnny. The least you could do is give the guy with quads the pot. Obviously it would have been built up higher had they been allowed to continue, but clearly at that point he had won.

OMG that would have been even crazier if the casino had a bad beat jackpot in place, which I'm assuming they don't. If they did all hell would've broken loose.

The dealer knocked the cards out of his hand. He pushed the chips into the pot and went to flip the turn, and flipped the whole deck. We realized about 10 minutes later that he should of got the rest of the chips, instead of the chopped pot.

The casino actually did have a bad beat, which was kind of like adding salt to the wound.

Wow great story and I give praise to that guy with quads for holding his composure even though he had a guarantee hand. Also nice of him to tip that poor dealer.

What do you mean the dealer was nervous? before or after he screwed up the hand?

After he screwed up, he called the floor over to check it out. They were trying to figure out the best way to handle it, and his hand was just real shaky, wouldn't look around at anyone else just stared at the floor manager. I felt bad for him.

The guy with the quads was pissed and screaming real like, cussing up a storm for a good 3 to 4 minutes. Yet, after he calmed down he tipped the dealer 5 bucks and said that's what i would of gave you. Then told him he's sorry for flipping out, just a little upset.

How that must of been quiet a scene, I feel sorry for the dealer and more sorry for the player with quad aces. I think I would of punched the dealer, and a few others. LOL
Incredible story, thx for posting. :D

Indeed just give the pot to the Aces. I guess the guy with the Kings would of been more happy with it as he was drawing dead and stood to lose a lot of money. I guess it was a blessing in disguise for him lol.

I don't know if this would have qualified anyway. Usually bad beat jackpots are when Quads vs Quads or Quads vs straight flush or Quads vs Royal flush takes place. I don't think Quads vs Boat would have sufficed anyway.

Interesting. Maybe there are regional differences.

On the Southern Indiana riverboats where I play live, the BBJs are Aces full of Jacks or better.

In 2006 I was playing a cash game at an Indian Casino in Wisconsin when 2 guys at my table hit. The BBJ there was Aces full of 10s or better. The losing hand was Aces full of 10s and the winning hand was quad 10s. That was really sweet--everyone else at the table got a cool $4K just for being there. :D

the fact that he was young makes it a sad story! because i can put myself in that position. and you'd be slamming your fist into your head when you got home.Bless him really. What a dull job a dealer has, im sure its a well paid one.
but if you screw up such a big hand its gunna be so **** for him

At the Lumiere in STL where I play often, the bad beat jackpot is quads beating quads, both cards in your hands have to play. I guess that is why it gets up to $250,000 though...

Yeah, the guy with the KK was definitely blessed. That dealers mistake saved him a bunch of cash I'm sure
