What I'm wondering is why in the world you checked the flop.

^^^this. Bottom 2 pair is strong on the flop, a bet right there might have taken this down. I'm just guessing, but perhaps you thought you were trapping? Not a good play; a weak bottom 2 needs to be protected. And, an over on the turn, and another on the river, and you lead at the river? Yeah, you could definitely have saved at least your $10 on the river, better 2 pair might check it down against this board, but you priced him into going for it. This hand is an excellent example of never bet a medium strength hand at the river; you'll normally only get called by a hand that's gotcha.

You made two big mistakes in this hand.
First of all, checking the flop is very bad here because bottom two pair is not strong enough to slowplay against two opponents.

You finally bet the turn which is correct. You get min-reraised. Your opponent could be holding a King or a Queen, at this point there's no need to think he has you beat.

So you correctly re-raise again and you get called. At this point, your alarm bells need to start ringing.

The river is a 9. Note that the only half-decent drawing hand on the turn was JT!
But either way, you must check the river. By calling your re-reraise on 4th street, your opponent showed real strength. Sure, he might have been playing an AK really weird but that's fairly unlikely. It's much likelier he has you beat.
