Important new legislation that would effectively halt any regulations related to the current ban on Internet gambling was introduced last week by Reps. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) and Ron Paul (R-Texas).

The gambling prohibition became law as the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 (UIGEA).

"The ban on Internet gambling infringes upon two freedoms that are important to many Americans: the ability to do with their money as they see fit, and the freedom from government interference with the Internet,” stated Rep. Paul.

We couldn’t agree more. It is time for Congress to reverse its policies and create a framework where we can gamble with government safeguards.

There has been significant media coverage of this development, including articles in the Las Vegas Review Journal, The Hill, and Financial Times.
