I like both and then you start with a bankroll of 0 $ you must start with freeroll tournaments.
In tournaments you need a lot of time and much patience. It is a hard way to get in the money. Sometimes you play some hours and lost just before the money. You must play a lot of tournaments to get cash.
In cash game it is faster to get cash and build a bankroll, especially in the micro limits, there are a lot of bad players. But it also happens that you lose some stacks in a row. And if your bankroll at the beginning it hurts a lot.
That you get in both variants is often a suck out. Often i lose on the river and before the last card is showing, i am the favorite with more than 80 till 90 percent. I hate this situations, but that is poker. It is also a game with a little luck factor.
The advantage of cash-game is there is more action. You can play more hands.

I prefer tournaments, but lately I'm trying to switch to cash. Tournaments usually take more than 1 hour. And since usually the time of my game is night, it causes inconvenience. I'm not always ready to fight before dawn to get the prize money.
