Have you ever gambled online? Are you affected by the recent legislation regarding online gambling? A research team from the International Gaming Research Unit at Nottingham Trent University in the UK would like to speak to YOU! We are conducting the largest ever international research project to investigate aspects of online gambling, and we are visiting Florida during November.

The aim of our research is to create a better understanding of the needs and concerns of online gamblers, and for this we would like to talk to you. We will be holding discussion groups in Miami and Orlando. The groups will last for between 90 and 120 minutes, and you will be recompensed $100 for your time. The groups will be completely confidential.

Are you interested in taking part? Have any questions? Please email us at gamblingresearch@ntu.ac.uk

True. The difference, though, is that the other guy is an individual student, who may or may not be trustworthy (although I don`t suggest he isn`t).

The Gaming Research Unit at Nottingham Trent University is a genuine and fairly well-known academic body and that would seem to be their genuine email address.

Edit: another thought - if you were in any doubt whether you should take part, (you live in Florida, don`t you) you could ask the University to confirm that this is an official project. Their website is www.ntu.ac.uk and there are contact details there.

Will this study ever come out to the west coast of the states? I would like to participate in this study, however, Florida is a bit far to travel.

Thanks for your replies. Yes, we are an official academic body, thank you to Egon Towst for putting our University contact details on the forum - if anyone wants to verify our credentials please do!

We are conducting the first multi-national research study into online gambling behaviour. We have visited East Asia and Europe, and are coming to the USA during November, followed by canada. Currently we have not planned a west-coast leg to this project, however if there were sufficient interest it would definately be something we would look into.

As for dates and times for our discussion groups in Miami and Orlando - that can be arranged to suit participants.

If anyone has further questions, please do either contact us at our email address or post on the forum and we will be in touch soon.

We are stil looking for participants to take part in this research. We will be in Orlando from the 13th to the 17th, and Miami from the 17th to the 20th. If anyone wants to take part please get in touch. If you know anyone who may be interested in earning $100 for 2 hours of their time then let them know about this project!
Thanks for reading this!
