Hello, guys!

Recently i wasted my bankroll (like 200 dolars~) to hit some tourney and pay my bills in real life.

The result: A big disaster.

When you are playing in pressure of the money, the impression i have all coolers are against me, really. Have you gus this same feeling? :(

Well, we learn in pain, unfortunately. Starting to study more about bankroll manegement, reduce my bills at real life to construct my bankroll again and dont make more squeeze at MTT's.

I'm open to hear you guys, how i can grow up a bankroll from zero.

Thanks!

To play freerolls of course.

Well, usually basic rules are you can spend 1/100 of bankroll for a tourney or 300 big blinds for cash game.

You can easily create a bankroll from scratch by playing in freerolls. To do this, you just need to be patient and not play with junk. In addition, it is very important to have a clear system of bankroll management that will allow you to be an effective and successful player.

It can be very difficult to manage money. I figured out what monthly bills I have every month like a checklist and think about the ones I need to save up for like yearly taxes and yearly insurance and convert that to a monthly number so it doesn't hit me when they're due so don't have to pull money from the poker fund because I didn't think about it.

It helps to have an emergency fund for expenses to avoid situations like that. A lot of folks listen to Dave Ramsey who gives advice on real life money management. So I would try tuning into that or at least try to find another money management guru that can help over on Youtube. "Why you Need a $1000 Emergency Fund" over at The Ramsey Show and "Dave Ramsey Shares How to Rebuild an Emergency Fund on the Rachael Cruze Show, both on Youtube might help.

As far as the poker bankroll goes, I would put aside money every month then build up an account to play $1/2 live when I decided to try it for a living. And I knew how much I needed because I knew the type of players, how much I won/lost going on the weekends and week nights here and here for like over a year and knew my hourly rate so I had a clue of expenses like travel and how time I actually committing which a lot folks don't think about. A lot of folks only think about what its costing out of their pocket but EVERYTHING has an opportunity cost, lol. Something else they should be thinking about I guess.

All I had to do was save up and add "poker budget money" to my list of monthly expenses back then and save up and I kept adding to the poker fund even when I was winning so when I was ready to move up to a higher level I would have the money ready.

But whatever, I watched "Building a Bankroll as a Recreational Player - A Little Coffee with Jonathan Little" on Youtube the other day instead of working on my 30 day course here on Cardschat and it was pretty straightforward stuff. I disagreed with some things he said but whatever and thats from my own experience of trying that so. . . Anyway, that might help you with that side of your question.

Cheers!!!

You can build your bankroll by working on the game, by being patient, learning to avoid the mistakes of wanting everything at once, by starting small, i.e. freerolls, by honing your skills and strategies.

I posted about this previously, so you might look over my posts. The bottom line is, pick your poison. Mine is triple up SNGs. They are very popular and there always seems to be one available to play. That's what I seemed to be best suited for years ago, so I decided to build my expertise in that game. I bought into a site for $25 and played $1 games until I had amassed $150. That took well over a year. With a 50:1 stake to buy in ratio, I started playing $3 games and that's when I discovered triple up SNGs. I took years, but I increased my buy ins to $7, $15, $25 and finally $50 while always maintaining a 50:1 stake to buy in ratio. Today I have a $15,000 stake which is a 300:1 stake to buy in ratio for my $50 games. I've never come close to losing even an eighth of my stake during bad beat losing streaks. And I've always managed to grind my way back. Progressing the way I did helped me learn and build my expertise in the games. If I had started playing the $15 games with a $750 stake, or $25 games with a $1,250 stake, there's a good chance I would have lost it.

Bankroll management is just as important as being good at poker.

With that Bankroll you could already live from Poker, I dream of getting there.

Hi, friend!
If you do decide to increase your account balance, then the first thing you need to learn is bankroll management.
A lot of money merges because of emotions. This is a very important part of poker. Under the influence of emotions - you can lose everything) Such is poker.

I have also destroyed my bankroll sometimes , either on casino or trying to play higher stakes , going for the big win , but this won't happen , the only result in most cases is the destruction of bankroll , tilt and bad feelings , and a new deposit lol

Hello there,

The short answer is to play freerolls.

I have one golden rule - Never gamble what you cannot afford to lose :)

Anything can happen when you gamble!

I just worked my way up from zero to about $90+ and then blew it all away by trying to rush the process when I was super close to my goal of $100. Big mistake.

I am now working my way back up - Zero Bankroll Builder Challenge

Set a goal and start a thread. There are many players who will cheer you on and give advice when needed.

Good Luck at the tables :giggle:
