It was a long time ago, when the trees were still big. I had a pair of threes in my hands and my opponent has a queen and an ace. The cards on the table were opened in this order: queen, three, ace, ace, three. It was just incredible luck that allowed us to take away the chips from a very aggressive opponent.

The best card is the one with the best chance of winning AA, you have top pair bet. And in the game, the best cards are not obvious, such as low cards to which you have a straight after the flop and hands giving a 100% win.

What was your best hand against a very good hand, where you won?

I once started playing in a cash game at our local Pub because I busted out of the weekly Tournament early, There were only 4 of us to start with but we knew more would join in as the Tournament progressed. We like to keep it friendly and usually only buy-in for £20.00 blinds being .25p/50p.

On the very first hand I was dealt Q/J of Spades, and the BTN player raised to £1.00, I was on the BB so obviously called, The flop came K,10, 6, of Spades, now as I knew my opponent was fairly aggressive with betting, I checked, He bet out £1.00 and after some time considering the fact he could have been raising pre-flop with the Ace of Spades in his hand, So obviously I would be losing to a bigger Flush, I called hoping he didn't have that Ace.

The Turn card dropped a Heart card so didn't effect the hand in any way as I still had my Flush, although if he had the bigger Flush I was throwing good money away so I checked the Turn, He bet out £2.00, and after some time considering my options I called.

Now I knew I was always drawing to a Royal Flush, but I never thought it would happen, but I was also drawing to the Straight Flush if a 9 of Spades should come, and of course if he had that damned Ace my Straight Flush would beat his Ace Flush, Then it happened, The Barry Greenstein Ace on the River, The Ace of Spades, My Heart almost burst, I had the best possible hand in Poker and my new Dilemma was how to get more money into the pot?

I acted a bit unsure about my next move, because too much would chase him away, and I wanted to get as much as possible, He then made some remark about not happy seeing that Ace, which opened a door for me, I replied "me neither, but it has completed my Straight," to which I bet out £5.00. He said "oh I can beat a Straight" and quickly called.

I Turned over The Royal Flush and the Pub Erupted in Laughter, he had the 7/8 of Spades and was drawing to the 9 as well. I had to apologise for all the acting but I did state I was afraid he had the Ace all the time. but imagine the fireworks that would have happened had that 9 of Spades would have come, he would have the Straight Flush to the 10 and me the Straight Flush to the King.

A Perfect Storm :)

For me, for some reason, I remember more when I won with a straight flush in an offline tournament (it was a freeroll in my city at a poker club, before the war). My opponent had a flush with an ace. And I just remember the absolute confusion of my opponent when he was sure that he had won me. And I felt like James Bond in the movie "Casino Royale" at the moment of my glory. :geek::cool:

QJ versus AA I didn't have enough chips and I hit a call and won against him I think it's a good hand when 5bb was left so sometimes I win against my opponent's strong hand but it's very rare and I almost won the tournament but 7 was eliminated it seems like when I was left with 5bb I was among 50 players

It happened to me to win a full house with a royal flush, we both had achieved a flush on the flop, they were diamonds in the turn a 7 of clubs appeared and we were both equalizing very strong bets and we ended up allin there on the turn, we lowered cards and I went losing the villain had A7 and I had KQ on the flop TJ5 of diamonds, I felt like a loser but glory appeared on the river and that 9 of diamonds that gave me a winner, incredible for me

The my favorite hand, when I had pair 88 against pair JJ of my opponent, further on the flop we had set 888 against set Jacks, and on the river came 8!
My magic 8, and this means I got wonderful Four of a Kind 8888 eventually!
