Looking at renting a house out on Airbnb (they so cheap!) for 2 months in Vegas for 3 of us. We're gonna be playing MAINLY $1/$2NLHE and the daily tournies ($50 or so I think? Depending where you go).

Going to be playing around 4 days a week. We're all fairly solid players at the cash tables when playing live.

Can anyone give advice on how much we'd need per person?

We're thinking about 10k USD should be plenty for 8 weeks at $1/$2?

Anyone who's done this please let me know. for advice.

$10 000? Does that include all your living expenses and food too? You should probably bring more. It's better to have too much than not enough. $10 000 in Vegas can disappear real quick.

NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER stay at the casinos - NEVER EVER

And Dakota - I do not think I am going to be dealing there this year due to issues at home with a sick wife, but because of this I am looking to go out there and play for a week or so ish. Was gonna hit the 1.5k O8 but if there is a deal to be had for the 888 I may be persuaded to join in. How do I find out?

I will probably post details in a couple of weeks.

You probaly needs like 15-20k 10k could be gone with a few bad beat, Then again if you tilt a lot... 10k is enough

If you want to grind 1/2NL at vegas, bring at least 100 buy ins ( $20,000 ), forget tourneys they will drain you emotionally and physically. This will make your cash game suffer and accelerate your loss. Then, you need money for lodging, food and transportation. This cost depends on your lifestyle.

If your goal is to soak up some Las Vegas, have some fun while making money then come two days before the wsop calender starts and hang around the cash games and sngs. This predatory behaviour will give you "gto" to scoop up easier cash game money, despite the higher rake from people tired and distracted from the "wsop" experience.

Last year I made $30k from selling my sng sat. lammers and another $30k grinding cash during the wsop. Never played a tourney or wanted to. This is big money for someone who works all year to clear barely $25k after tax.

Know the real reason why you are doing this and tailor your plan and actions around that. Poker means a million different things to other people. I am only giving you advice from a person who relies on poker to pay the bills.

100 buy ins may be a bit excessive. I would hope that after losing the 99th buy in you may think poker isnt the game for you anymore and you should quit. I think 20-40 is fine.

To be fair, a sng sat is a tourney, just saying. And this person is not going for WSOP anyways, I believe the trip is set for a different time

^ Bingo. Not ready for WSOP at all, as much as our group would love to go for that, we're big tournament players and the WSOP is just too rich / we're not at that skill level.

We're happy to grind cash when we go as well as the occasional tournament. The 10k USD is purely a poker bankroll, living costs etc is a different fund!

If I'm going through 100 buy in's at $1/$2 in 2 months I should seriously re-evaluate my game as I'd have more of a chance of winning at blackjack by that stage.

We're gonna do a "feeler" trip just after the wsop this year for about 10 days that we've recently agreed on, just to see what food etc costs and what the games are like etc and whatnot, that should give us a much better feel for the bigger trip down the line.

It's hard to gauge is all as an Aussie. We can fly to Macau for less then $500 return from where I live etc, America is just a different ball game for Aussies the costs of getting there are just ridiculous. The only thing the weak dollar helps for is poker ASSUMING we're a winning player and we bring back profits.
