M-A-R-K-E-T-I-N-G guys!!! Put on a spectacle that people are interested in watching. That's why the wsop was started.

Guess the top 200 players in the world could go play in someone's basement or in the backroom of an undisclosed casino instead?

I don't see why its silly. Players with that much money must have a hard time getting 'the rush' they use to feel when they started out. With 17 mil on the line I'm sure the players will have a good time.

Hell if I had 20 mil in the bank, I'd drop a mil to play and see if I can't double what I own up.

Its their money, they can do with it whatever they want.

Seems like a good idea to me... shipping 11% (or however much it is) to charity is also very cool (< & great for image of poker to general public)

BRM is for games that you're going to play in regularly. Since there's no such thing as regular tournaments with $1 million buyins BRM doesn't apply - either you're willing to risk a million bucks one time or you're not.

So basically 48 Seats = 48M

11% of 48M is around 4.5M

Now the grand prize of 17M is huge and that's more than x2 what a normal PRO would earn in his life right?

the people that win that tourney will become the most winner poker player of the world.. like erick seidel...

...except it'll obviously be Erik Seidel that wins it so it'll just be him adding to his lead, not somebody overtaking him

I'm sure all the pros will have their buy-ins funded by their respective poker site, but should be still fun to watch with that much money up for grabs.

...actually I think that's a lot less likely post-Black Friday - there will certainly be a lot less pros staked by their sites and even if it weren't for Black Friday a million bucks is still an awful lot of money.

It'll show us who really isn't busto IMO.

Wonder if I can get staked by Max Katz (Russian staker) for this event? Assuming my Fantasy Freeroll stats would be sufficient.
