Win Rate - What is Reasonable?

According to an on-line pro, you should typically win in 20 of 30 sessions (using his coaching of course). I typically play 5/10nl on poker stars. I try to play using the standard preflop and 3 bet ranges, I understand position and try not to do too many stupid things. During a typical 30 session run I will win about 8, break even (which feels like a win) about 10 and lose 12. After 2 years of play I am up so it really is cheap entertainment but I wonder if I am doing something wrong.
What is a normal win rate?

Winrate shouldn't be expressed that way.
You take bb/100hands or $/hour.
Since bb/100hands is more universal it is the most common used way to express your income, or outcome.

The lower your winning bb/100 is, the more variance plays a roll. The chance of losing over a long period of time is quite immens if you are a 2-3bb/100h winning player.
I would prefer playing NL5 with 10bb/100h over NL10 with 5bb/100h. I wouldn't play with a lower winrate than 5bb/100.

I would consider 5-15bb/100 a normal winrate at the micros.

Thanks for the reply. According to PS my winrate was 7bb/100h for 2023. I am now tracking my winrate for each session.

Just focus on bb/100 as said above. 7bb/100 is a decent rate.

The idea of winning 20 of 30 sessions is just bizarre as it depends how long your sessions are, how many tables, how aggressive the games are etc.

That's a nice rate. If it's all at the same level you might want consider moving up. It's bordeline though, as you'd obviously expect that to decrease a bit at the next level up.
